On my show this month:
Greetings! Krautrock is one of those terms (like shoegaze) that gets tossed around and misused, but there is no question that Günter Schickert , who recently died, was a towering figure in German progressive and experimental music. I have a great example of his genius music in this month's show. What else? How about new stuff from Cult Objects , Full Flower Moon Band , The Baby Seals , Xiu Xiu , Drobne Niepokoje, Rehash Neu Klang, John Q Irritated, Itchy & The Nits, Earth Tongue , Hiarki, Plastique Pigs, Brenda I Funky, Institute , Maria BC , Mujeres Podridas , and Robber Robber. Plus a "hidden" track from Terveet Kadet at the very end of the show! I try to keep my in-show talking to a minimum to make more room for music, but I do have more to discuss about what I play, so check out my companion show notes over at http://davidondandelion.blogspot.com. Enjoy the show!
On the show NEXT month:
Greetings! We mourn the recent deaths of Billy "Bass" Nelson (the bass player for the first three Funkadelic albums), reggae legend Sly Dunbar , and Ghana Highlife master Ebo Taylor and pay tribute with a song from each this month. I also have new songs from Robber Robber, Damaged Bug , Varna GL, Welt Star, Maddie Ashman , Disket , Ekko Astral , Adiós Cometa , Vikowski , Gerchi, Hot Face, Taker, Benzyna, 86 It , and something from a future release by T.Y. due out this summer. I also have two new and absolutely wild covers by Ty Segall and Dwarves . I try to keep my in-show talking to a minimum to make more room for music, but I do have more to discuss about what I play, so check out my companion show notes over at http://davidondandelion.blogspot.com. Enjoy the show!

Biography:
Hello, my name is David Smith. I grew up in Detroit, Michigan, a perfect place to explore a wide variety of music via live shows and record shops. For the past twenty years I’ve been living in the Washington, DC area.
I've been a rabid collector of music all of my life, with a current collection of around 5,000 CDs and pieces of vinyl, plus uncounted numbers of live bootlegs, digital downloads, and cassettes. I've taken advantage of my world travels to buy records and CDs from all over the world, including the time when I bought a Xalam CD in Dakar, Senegal and nearly started a riot.
My aim at Dandelion Radio is to present an interesting and far-reaching collection of music each month, carefully selected and sequenced like that great mix tape you received from a friend all those years ago.
