David Smith - June 2022
Bienvenido and welcome to my June show! This month amongst the goodies we have a handful of great new and recent music from Argentina, Mexico, Colombia, and Guatemala!
We have lot of new music, including tracks from Saloon Dion, Adrian Quesada, Crime Of Passing, Grocer, Mysticwood, Toxic Garden Gnomes, Junk Drawer, Filmmaker, Caution, and Erasers.
We also have a great lost-new-reissue-who-cares album from the nearly forgotten 1970s San Francisco punk band Crime.
In this month's Historical Highlight we will hear four great songs from Soviet era punk out of Eastern Europe. We also have a C86 era gem, Swiss dub, Vancouver shoegaze, and the always unique Black Randy And The Metrosquad.

Gareth Jones - June 2022
Gareth delivers his June show for her majesty The Queen in the only way he knows how. There's an anti-Jubilee anthem from Carter the Unstoppable Sex Machine and an ode to Prince Andrew from The Kunts.
Meanwhile the 2nd hour is devoted to Sir Paul McCartney, who celebrates his 80th birthday on 18th June. But you won't actually hear anything sung by Macca himself! Instead you can enjoy a selection of McCartney & Wings hits covered by other artists, ranging from Frank Sidebottom to Sandie Shaw.
All this plus plenty of new tracks from around the world, including Japan's GOOFY18, Germany's Woog Riots and Ukraine's Kalush Orchestra.

Mark Whitby - June 2022
Plenty to pack in this month so no time for sessions or featured compilations, just a whole load of new music, including three releases from the Metal Postcard label, who've certainly hit a rich vein of form of late. We also feature tracks from new releases by the likes of Woog Riots, Honeyglaze and Angel Olsen, plus a cracking split release from Blue Tapes.
As usual, we Peel Back... with three tracks from the greatest of all archives and also play a track from Cathal Coughlan, news of whose untimely death sadly came through after the show was recorded, leaving a musical legacy matched by very few.

Pete Jackson - June 2022
Summer looks like it might be poking its head out soon, so here's a couple of hours worth of tunes to get things moving.
There's warm new tunes from Jason Beers, Psychedelic Porn Crumpets, Spiritualized, Japenese Television and Ty Segal, some Nigerian funk and Korean Psych, and we discover The John Denver Airport Conspiracy as well as Air Max '97 and Large Plants.
We also look back to the earlier days of the recently-deceased Vangelis with a huge tune from Greek prog-psych legends Aphrodite's Child.

Rocker - June 2022
A two hour show from Rocker this month, with new tracks from Benefits; Pama International; The Rusty Nutz; Jeanines; Fresh; Jeremy Gluck; Monica Queen; Blue Orchids and Arrest! Charlie Tipper.
There are tracks from two featured LPs in the show - one is the highly anticipated debut from London-based political ska band Captain SKA - and the other the second in the 'Signals, Wires & Amplifiers' series of compilations from Leeds-based label Next Phase: Normal.
There's electronica from Michel Mayer; Marc Romboy & Oniris and Tibasko.
This month's Rocker's Shellac Attack was recorded in 1931, and was the first recording by a black artist to sell over a million copies.
As well as little known acts, here's a little known fact: Lemons float in water, whereas limes sink.

Sean Hocking - June 2022
We kick off the show with our favourite band of 2022, not only because they were (we're told) the first band to give Wet Leg a support slot in the pub at Ventnor on the Isle of Wight but also because they write songs that actually reflect people's lives with a healthy dose of dry humour and distrust of mainstream culture.
The show also features a new one from The Chats who have, more than others, mastered the art of Ramones / AC/DC songwriting. Each week they seem to come out with a new Oz classic. Also, it's great to hear new Arnhem Land band King Stingray whose saltwater people DNA reflects the likes of Yothu Yindi and the Warumpi Band. Can't wait to hear more from them.
Other new Oz acts on the show include Display Homes and Party Dozen (with guest vocals from Nick Cave) and Tee Vee Repairman out of Sydney.
New Metal Postcard music too, Occult Character (Dallas) and Pineapple (Plymouth) make this month's show.
Also listen to tunes from Sweden's Molly Niilsson, Lia Mice out of London, a new one from the Woog Riots who pay homage to Kiwi greats, The Clean.
Digging a little into the past we give you a dose of Fat White Family, Mavis Staples and Liam Lynch.
There's lots more to discover in the Ring of Fire June show so give your ears the best present they'll have all month.

Thomas Blatchford's Grandmaster Gareth Special - June 2022
This show is dedicated to Gareth Jones - a man once described by John Peel as "the new God" - who sadly died last month. Gareth not only made a huge body of music under the name Grandmaster Gareth, but was also the leader of the band Misty's Big Adventure from 1996 up to the time of his death.
Gareth's music was often deeply silly, melancholic, joyous, heartbroken, absurd, angry, whimsical, political, hilarious, existential, playful, poignant, and did I mention silly? His style was summed up by the record label name 'Grumpy Fun', but was always the Venn diagram where sublime and ridiculous overlapped entirely.
This show is an introduction to Gareth's back catalogue - which you can find hours and hours of at - but also a tribute to a remarkable, unique, affable guy who will be profoundly missed.
Listen out for the regular show from Thomas this month as well.
