Brownbutter - September 2021 Brownbutter's September show is a pizza. A very large, very tasty pizza. It lasts four hours and there are rumors of a Michelin star. Maybe a Michigan bar. It is possible that it's actually just the 1983 film Mr. Mom starring Michael Keaton and Teri Garr. "'People don't change,' that's what they say" is what Anika says in the show opener, "Change", but she, along with 53 other songs in this four hour mastadon of a pizza, asserts "I think we can learn, I think we can change." Mr. Mom agrees.

David Smith - September 2021 Can you believe we are already in the third trimester of 2021? Unbelievable. For my September show I have a lot of new material, including songs from Anika, Vasconcelos Sentimento, Midwife, Wilted Woman, foodman, Piętnastka, and more. We will also hear a great song from an upcoming re-release by Princess Chelsea. In this month's Historical Highlight, I will give a brief tour of the amazing body of work by Don "Sugarcane" Harris. Sadly, we lost another musician recently, from the great doo-wop group The Harptones. We will hear a song from them in tribute. Enjoy the show!

Leo Gilbert - September 2021 Leo maxes out on music from all over the wonderful continent of Africa in his four-hour September show, with tunes from Niger, Kenya, Libya, South Africa, Ethiopia, Uganda, Tanzania and Morocco featuring Mc Yallah, Mdou Moctar, Les Filles de Illighadad, Ahmed Fakroun, Moonchild Sanelly and many others. He also manages to squeeze in a track from Paul Rooney's wonderful new album and a new single from Jangly Mark, two tunes from Sault, two from Damon Locks & Black Monument Ensemble, and a handful of new songs from big-hitters such as Dry Cleaning, IDLES, Low and Porridge Radio. Possibly the most intriguing tune is a Spanish reworking of a 1978 Elvis Costello song that brought memories of Leo's youth flooding back. And there is so much more besides. Unmissable? You bet!

Mark Cunliffe - September 2021 It's still summer in the UK but we already seem to be creaping into autumn a bit preaturely as I type this. Summers in the UK are always a bit psychotic really. So, September brings us new Jawbone and something from rapper Unknown T. DJ Manny has another from his new album and the excellent Polyhymns come with some new heat. Mari Dangerfield has something which is probably her best one to come out in the last few releases and Dry Cleaning and coming at us with yet more fab vibes. There is also a brilliant featured album from Genesis Owusu.

Rocker - September 2021 Two hours from Rocker this month, including new tracks from CTMF; Benefits; Pip Blom; Red Fox Labrador; David Lance Callahan; Jangly Mark; The Great Leap Forward; Low; The Lovely Basement; and Mildred Maude. There's electronica from mysterious German duo Die Neue Zeit, as well as a new track from Petar Dundov, and a reworking of a Dukwa track by Deetron. There's also a wonderful new track by Paul Rooney, from his forthcoming new concept album about working in a call centre. There's a whole slew of new reggae / ska releases on Happy People Records. Meanwhile Courtney Barnett takes on The Velvet Underground, Laura Cantrell covers Freedy Johnson, and David Christian of Comet Gain reinterprets a classic track by Felt. This month's Rocker's Shellac Attack is from 1955. There's no Educating Elizabeth record, instead this month sees a one-off return of the Peel's Big 45 feature, to mark the passing of one of the all time great record producers. As well as little known acts, here's a little known fact: While Mick Jagger may have said that Dandelion will make you wise, we cannot guarantee this to be the case.

Sean Hocking - September 2021 Don Letts has put together a compilation for Late Night Tales which includes a wonderful dub re-edit of 16 Tons by OBF Charlie P so that has to kick of the show. Everything old is new with the Taliban back in Kabul so we follow with some old metal postcard tunes that we released earlier in the decade, Taliban Man by Krom out of Cambodia and dj foundation's G-Had. What else is new? It's been a long time since we've heard from Peaches, Parquet Courts have a new album due and if the lead single is anything to go by you'll be hearing more from that album when it drops. Out of South Africa we've got Moonchild Sanelly as well as a "Cape Town Jam" from UK producer Auntie Flo and also check out from Port Elizabeth the Native Soul track Dead Sangoma. The Monoliths want to "Fuck Oasis" and not in a loving way! Also something new off Reuben Vaun Smith's fabulous debut LP on Sunday. Listening to it you wouldn't believe that he's from Yorkshire and destined to be a premier league player until an awful injury. We say football's loss is music's gain. Other new and fairly new tracks from the Legless Crabs, Peggy You, Joy Orbison, Tee-Vo, Waffles and many more. Oldies but goodies from Lightning Bolt, The Fall, The HiFis, Cramps & Beck. Along with all the other weird and wonderful things we've also got a version of Ace of Spades played on some church bells ... as a former Rockin' Vicar I think this version would have made Lemmy very happy.

Thomas Blatchford - September 2021 This month's wingding from Thomas is dedicated to Australian artist Katharine Daly, who died last month, and has regularly featured on the show with music made under her own name or as the frontperson for the band Ostraaly. This episode closes with a selection of her songs and a plea to download the Ostraaly album Misery Guests, released at the start of 2020 by the label Tenth Court. Before that though there's elation, fear, aliens, ghosts, milk, cheese, and a bunch of new singles from Zig Zag, BRNDA, MissGenius, Blonde Revolver, Tragic Carpet, Jangly Mark, and plenty more besides. The label Tuff City provide some soul and funk from yesterdecade, Mothra finally release an album that's been sat under the bed since the mid nineties, and your host becomes overwhelmed by a twenty year old song about a cringeworthy newsreader.
