Now Playing: David Smith Runrig - Sreadean Na Roinn-Eorpa (Streets Of Europe)
NEWS: We have 28 hours across 12 shows for October including, possibly, the last from Mark Cunliffe for a long time. Plus - it is already 20 years since John Peel died and we have some reminders.
Hi Soprano, The Chasms was good for a while, but I had a few problems of the mental health variety towards the end of last year and told the other two I needed a bit of a break from music for a while. That was about 6 months ago, and I've not heard from either of them since. So The Chasms are no more.
But if you (or anyone else) would like an mp3 disc of all the releases (sorry I don't have any of the proper cd's left) then just drop me an email at simon@isvisible.co.uk and I'll burn a disc for you and pop it in the post for nowt.
And while I'm here (at the risk of this sounding like an Oscars speech!)... I'd like to thank all the Dandelion DJ's who supported The Chasms and played the tracks over the 4 years, and I'd also like to thank everyone that voted for us in the festive fifties or came to see us play. It meant a lot. Cheers,
hi, does anyone know something what happen to " the chasms ". all websites of the band are closed.
thanks

ROCKER!! Love love LOVE the Thatcher show. I get so sick and tired of listening to (even the more reasonable) newscasters fawn over her and Reagan. I know it's not nice to speak ill of the dead but good riddance.

Thanks for the Mixcloud alternative. Excellent setup (as usual), only the quality seems to be inferior to what I get via iTunes.
Admin reply: Thanks for the feedback. The shows that we upload to MixCloud are exactly the same as the ones that we stream live but it is possible that the MixCloud Flash player that you access via the web is either given a lower quality version by MixCloud servers (but I don't think it is) or the Flash player does not do a good job of playing it. Try playing it i is a different browser - Chrome in particular - to get a different Flash implementation.

Listening to Cunliffe today. Great show this month!
Love the Mixcloud!!!! Great way to catch repeats of the best shows of the month
Thumbs up for the MixCloud move How about a special place for Historical Festive 50s on MixCloud? That would generally be an improvement for society as a whole...
Admin reply: Thanks We are thinking about having a 2nd account for the archives (pre-2013) - but if MixCloud let us assign a sort order (which they have said they are thinking about because a few other Cloudcasters have asked for it as well) then we could keep it all together.

Finally - the jingle intro has gone. This has been a nuisance with iTunes when switching speakers. Thanks! Unless it's just a technical issue...
O
Admin reply: it was deliberately turned off to enable some testing of a new player (that didn't work well with it). Tempted to leave it off though, even if we get the new player to work with it on.
With only 1 day of February left I would have missed out on a few shows this month. The new MixCloud uploads will be very useful. Thanks!
Admin reply: The February shows should be in place by the end of the week-end. In fact Paul Ackroyd's show will probably get uploaded tonight because it has already had the last play of this month.

Classical peeps love Marcelle!
I have the staff at two classical music orgs (KDFC Classical and San Francisco Classical Voice) listening to Marcelle right now. They are DIGGING it.
Thanks for all the great music, Dandelion Radio. More of Andy's Dad please!!! Is it true though that Shrag, Standard Fare and The Chasms have all split up? If so, then that's very sad. I heard them all first on here.
Admin reply: This reply from Rocker: :-( Sadly this is all true - The Chasms are at the very least on hold - and Standard Fare and Shrag are both playing their final gigs at the London Popfest at the end of Feb. All are bands I have played on my show and have seen live in the last year.
