Really sad to hear that DJ Marcelle's leaving the station. There wasn't a show of hers that passed by when I didn't hear something amazing that I'd never heard the like of before and in that she is unique among the stations DJs (bar Paul who I'm also sad to hear is leaving for now.)
All the DJs on Dandelion seem to work together and as a whole, come close to mimicking the spirit of Peel, but only Marcelle locked into that side of Peel that really reached into the unfamiliar and, on many occasions, the uncomfortable, and regularly brought us the totally out of the ordinary.
Also, as someone who used to grind his teeth in irritation year after year as Peel continued compiling the festive 50, I especially found her caustic asides about Dandelions continuing with the tradition refreshing and, I might add, hysterical!
I'd advise anyone who feels similar affection for Marcelle to check out her website (anothernicemess.com) and to subscribe to her weekly podcasts.

72 consecutive months from Mark Cunliffe.
Happy 6th anniversary.
Can't mix for toffee but picks out some real gems that put paid to the white boy guitar strum myth talked about here. BTW Mark, you are allowed a holiday you know

Terrible news Marcelle and Paul are leaving, Marcelle especially. As other listeners pointed out, both of them captured the Peel spirit more than other DJ Dandelion Radio has on board (yes, looking at you, Andrew Morrison, playing "Huey Lewis and the News". Are we left with white old men playing UK indie?
Admin reply: Feel free to analyse the tracklistings to see the split between UK and non-UK artists - and compare across the DJs and Peel. No prizes available! Maybe Rachael can make some time to provide some more shows - although that might increase the;UK Indie ratio.
Marcelle still has shows on other stations, so you can still tune in. Meanwhile at Dandelion we will continue to get shows out with plenty of new tracks and specially recorded sessions. It will always be a mixed bag - and we will try to keep the variety going. If you (anyone) know of female DJs who could fit in then do let us know because we are keen to have more.
Shocked and saddened at Marcelle's exit. What policy disagreement is she referring to? Don't know what to say. She certainly captured the spirit that makes Dandelion special.
Admin reply: We have decided not to elaborate. However, there still 2 shows to enjoy this month plus the archives on MixCloud and Marcelle still has at least one long-running show on a different station as well. In any case, hopefully you will still find plenty to both enjoy and stretch your listening across many of the other shows this month and into the future.
Very sad to hear that Marcelle is leaving. It seemed to me that the tracks she played exactly matched the stations motto, in fact, more so than any other DJ. I recently read the quote "Great art stretches the taste, it doesn't follow tastes" ... and this certainly applied to the content of all of Marcelle's shows.

Just a note to say I am saddened to hear that both Marcella and Paul Ackroyd are out. The time and effort each put into their shows was apparent and they gave Dandelion an added air of " leftfieldness" that will be missed. Thanks to both.
Hi Again! Seems other folks have no problem listening with Tunein.....and I have trouble with other stations as well.....so it looks like the problem may well be with my "Low end" tablet.....
Hi Folks! Is there a way to listen to Dandelion on Android devices?...I have tried the player on the page and the 'Tunein" app, but neither of these work.....Is there another player you would recommend? Or am I just being dense? (always possible....!)
Admin reply: Am surprised that it did not work with Tunein - so will get that tested (maybe things broke after the server switch but am sure it was working fine this week). However, will email you a secret link to try a new web-based player that we have been experimenting with that should work on Android.
Did you guys ever get around to getting some Dandelion Radio T shirts together?
Admin reply: We never did because of the lack of demand - apart from a handful that we had made for us (you can see Rocker wearing one in some of the photos on out site). If a few more people confirm interest then we would look at doing it.
