On my show this month:
My first show of 2020 is three hours packed with fizzing electronica, ambient drones and broken techno, add to this a smattering of sparkling guitar pop and the show is cracking introduction to the new year/decade.
There are new tunes from Peaness, Porridge Radio, Alex Chilltown and AJJ and a couple of songs from new Birmingham band Wiiince - who feature former Ace Bushy Striptease members in their ranks.
Wired and wonderful electronica this month from Beckton Alps2, Minos, Lite Fails, Alf Champion and a 12 minute epic from Mackintosh Plus. Elsewhere I've unearthed some old school indiepop from the likes of Nah, My Light Shines For You, Tampopo and Crystal Furs.
And in shop corner we are firmly planted in the mid 70s with a couple of stone cold classics from NEU! and Television.

On the show NEXT month:
This month the show is a little different from my usual kinda show as I feature a number of bands scheduled to play Wales Goes Pop! here in Cardiff over the Easter weekend this April.
So expect songs from The Darling Buds, The Flatmates, Big Joanie, Cheerbleederz, Rae Spoon, Boxcat and Slagheap amongst others.
Elsewhere we have new music from former Odd Box alumni The Monorals, The Humms and Night Pain (ex Giant Burger) and also there is also a focus on Welsh acts for the show following an internet shout-out for recommendations from Wales - so expect to hear songs from Red Telephone, Blue Amber, Rosehip Teahouse, Head Noise, Juice Menace and Heavy Flames.
And finally in shop corner we have two oldies from Keith Christmas and The Homosexuals.
All in all, 2 hours of great music!

Before taking up the challenge of being a Dandelion DJ I was an avid fan of the station and that hasn't changed over the past few years it's been wonderful to become part of the Dandelion family. I grew up listening to John Peel in the 80s and 90s and I hope that the music I play can be even a smidgen as interesting as his shows used to be. I have DJ'd for Fortuna POP, the Indietracks festival and countless other indiepop nights in the past - although my musical taste stretch further and wider than the indiepop sound. Having run Odd Box Records for over 10 years the label is now on a go slow at the moment and I am therefore increasingly finding my passion for music is now being channelled in to putting together my Dandelion radio shows.
'Work' these days is my own Craft Beer and Record shop based in Cardiff. The shop is called Pop'n'Hops. Please do pop in if you are ever in the Cardiff area.
