Andrew Morrison - October 2011
Andy's 2-hour October show includes an exclusive session from Twiggy And The K-Mesons of the excellent Daddy Tank Records. The show also features new material from The Crimea, Stylus Rex, Blood Orange, Gross Magic, Azari & III, and History Of The Hawk to name just a few. October's classic session track comes from Block 45, and you'll hear guest picks from Teresa and Scott. Also listen out for "Andy's Peel Session Archives" elsewhere in the schedule, in which marks the 7th anniversary of John Peel's death by spinning an hour of tracks recorded especially for John's show on the BBC.

Marcelle - October 2011
'The glory of the human voice'
After exhausting touring Marcelle sounds a bit tired, especially at the beginning of the show, but the pile of exciting new vinyl brings the show to life.
Amongst others raga and punk rock from the Mississippi label, weird German pop from Mark Boombastik, more live techno from Elektro Guzzi, African digital dance music, acid from the Snuff Crew and footwork from DJ Diamond and Damu, save Marcelle's poor introduction to the show, where she promises to play some music brought back from the Slovak Republic. Typically she forgets, but it's the musical (in)competence of America's The Deadnotes which makes up for it. And when Marcelle plays not one but two tracks from the world's most inadequate and talentless singer ever, we forgive her tired sounding voice.

Mark Cunliffe - October 2011
It's October and autumn is descending upon us like a fresher on the free condoms at the clap clinic. So, what can I offer you in the way of protection against listening to bad music this month?
Chris Lilley might have narked Blue Daisy, Mr Daisy, you've got it wrong mate, he's a comedian not a blinking DJ! Memory Tapes has made sure he's eaten plenty of carrots, either that or he's fallen down Triac's gaping orifice. Nickynutz is Warning Mavado that he's gunning for him which has completely lost YellowFever. Cloud Architect are introducing us to musical pulses which has Haiku Salut scoffing. Dark Sky gives us a portrait of David Cameron on amphetamines and Tinariwen's very latest album is featured ... wow!
Like any fresher who didn't get to the free condoms, I bet you're itching to hear it ...

Mark Whitby - October 2011
The excellent Paul Hawkins & Thee Awkward Silences are the very welcome session guests in my October show and are joined on the playlist by other much-loved 2011 artists such as Twiggy & The K-Mesons, Syntaks and Slutever as well as not-before-time reissues from Mahmoud Ahmed and Cicciolina Holocaust.
We also feature a typically self-effacing release from The Venopian Solitude amongst a teetering pile of great albums from The Loose Salute, The Infinite Three, Ras Amerlock and Prince Edward Island and an equally impressive, and no less teetering, stack of singles and EPs from Eric Copeland, The Lucid Dream, Mogwai and Girls Of Porn.
I also look back at some of my favourite performers at August's Green Man Festival, with tunes from Suuns, Moddi and She Keeps Bees and forward to December's Glasgow Popfest with The Electric Pop Group and BMX Bandits, the latter this year celebrating 25 years of existence. And as it's seven years since the great John Peel's untimely passing, our Peel Back... feature includes a couple of Peel favourites from 1971 and 1977 as well as a reissue from his Dandelion record label.

Paul Ackroyd - October 2011
This month, tune in to hear new Fennesz on Touch, new Regis on Blackest Ever Black, that exquisite extended Actress mix of Panda Bear's Surfers Hymn, more from that breathtakingly beautiful Myrmyr album on Under The Spire, and the other side of that Mark Fell and Peter Rehberg 12" on Editions Mego. Also this month, a bunch of twelve year-old street drummers from 1959, new Deepchord, Ouobraogo Charles from Burkina Faso, meditation corner with J.D. Emmanuel, a couple of Rail Band tracks from different repress albums, and plenty more besides.
If all of that isn't enough, you can catch an extra hour-long show elsewhere in the schedule covering loads of the quality reissue things to have come out in the past few months.

Pete Jackson - October 2011
In October's show, there's music from Italy, Japan, The USA, Cambodia, Italy, The Isle Of Man, Malta and Italy, so we clearly don't stay in one place too long (except Italy).
Loads of new music, including new material from five former session acts from Pete's show (and one from Andy's this month), plus a classic Peel session track from 1992.
Let the dark nights draw in, this'll keep you warm.

Rocker - October 2011
A packed three hour show featuring an exclusive session from Tender Trap, and a featured album from Veronica Falls. There's also new tracks from Mogwai; MJ Hibbett; McDowell; The Short Stories; Rita Lynch; The Chasms; Drugstore; The Erin Bardwell Collective; The Garlands; Gold-Bears; The Understudies; and Pete And The Pirates..
There's new electronica from Plaid; The Field; Breton; Alan Fitzpatrick; Max Cooper; Coma; and Benton. There's a new track by Peter Astor, plus a classic from one of his former bands, and he is also covered by Darren Hayman. Grace Jones gets the dub treatment, while the late Poly Styrene's daughter Celeste fronts her new band.
This month's Peel's Big 45 comes from 1975, while this month's Educating Elizabeth record is a Northern Soul floorfiller from 1967.
As well as little known acts, here's a little known fact: Pete Astor, formerly of The Loft and The Weather Prophets, in addition to his solo career holds down a job as researcher and lecturer in music studies at the University of Westminster.

Sean Hocking - October 2011
The summer is over and it's time to return to Hong Kong and tend to the garden.
On this month's show we feature tracks of the latest album by local indie kings My Little Airport and a couple of tracks by new young pretenders Dada Baba. Also from Hong Kong we feature cartoon punksters Defiant Scum as well as some electronics from Sushi Robot and ST.
And just arrived in the post the debut album from Shanghai based Pairs. We warn you ... it is noisy and not always pretty but by god do they have energy. For those of you who liked our Melbourne feature show a couple of months back we've included the opus-like 24 hours from Bad Thoughts in this show.
Finally the latest release on Metal Postcard Records from the amazing Glasgow based Dub Chieftain and his track Fitness Fanatic. We warn you ... don't put this on your iPod and run to it. He may well give you a heart attack!
Next month be prepared for a 2 hour show. As Festive 50 voting time rolls around again we'll feature an hour of our favourite songs / tracks from the Asia / Pacific region and then another hour of self indulgence featuring some of our favourite new tracks and discoveries from other parts of the planet.

Paul Ackroyd's Reissues Special - October 2011
With so many amazing reissues coming out at the moment I can barely keep up with them all, so only seemed fitting to dedicate an hour to having a look at some of these, and the fine labels that make this long-lost music available on wax again after many years in the audio wilderness.
So that means more Rail Band goods from Superfly, West African calypso from Chris Ajilo and His Cubanos on Honest Jons, classic funk from Jerry Jones on Soul Jazz, and a slice of gospel from the Abraham Brothers on Mississippi. Also on a Mississippi tip, Vaska Ilieva gets a 78 repress, and Parlortone provide a similar service for Trio Tipico Paraguayo de Félix Pérez Cardoso, whilst Moi J'Connais teach us a lovely bit of Southern Italian 70s folk. Sticking around Italy, and in holocaust corner this month, Maurizio Bianchi and Cicciolina Holocaust give a taste of industrial early-80s Italy. On a chirpier tip, Vampisoul provide us with a high-energy Highlife belter from The Ramblers International, Finders Keepers tug at the heart strings with a track from Zdenek Liska, and Pan help destroy / enhance the brain cells with a track from Hecker's classic Sun Pandamonium record.
If that leaves you hungry for more, be sure to check the schedule for my regular monthly show ...
