They are cinematic landscapes, claustrophobic dark rooms and short films with bursts of violence, regret and loss. Shattercones recipe: 1x 100-year-old slide guitar, 1x Viola with loops, 1x drum machine, 3x large tom toms, 1 x analogue synth, 2 x guitars, and 3 x vocals.
Since forming in late 2018 Shattercones have provided soundscapes for several projects, including an immersive installation in Berlin celebrating feminist icon Elizabeth Barrett Browning; they also designed the soundscapes that accompanied the Twin Peaks UK Festival in October 2019. Live highlights include playing the O2 Kentish Town Forum in November 2018, 1865 Southampton November 2019 and SWX Bristol October 2019.
Drawing from the same waters as Hildur Guðnadóttir, Nadine Shah, Ennio Morricone, Scott Walker, Tindersticks, Suicide, Philip Glass, Dirty Three and John Coltrane, the band bring a unique and occasionally unhinged presence to any venue.
