Powered by Audioscrobbler™Tom Compagnoni, known otherwise as Wax Audio, is a mashup artist and audio/video producer from Australia.

Between 2004–2007, he released three politically-themed EPs known collectively as The Mashed Media Trilogy: WMD ...and Other Distractions, Mediacracy, and Cut, Paste and Run. These works were created using heavily edited soundbites of media coverage relating to the war in Iraq (and elsewhere), re-contextualized dialogue from Australian, British, and American politicians—as well as countless other sources—all set to various musical styles. The trilogy is a humorous-though-often-disturbing soundscape of our times, as represented by western world leaders and the news media.

2007 also marked the release of Mashopolos, which is, as Compagnoni put it, "a 10-track mashup/bootleg/bastard-pop/remix album." It was the first of its own trilogy, followed eventually by Mashopolos II: The Mashening in 2009, and Mashopolos III: Mashups for the People in 2012. A followup mashup album (and his most recent to date), Mashphonic, was released in 2015, as was Anthology 1 and Anthology 2, a two-volume set compiling the most popular Wax Audio mashups, as well as some "deep cuts" and personal favorites.

In 2009, Wax Audio also released 9 Countries, an ambient/sound-collage/"documentary" album mixed from the audio of field-recordings extensively captured on MiniDisc and meticulously archived by Compagnoni, recorded on location in Indonesia, Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Tibet, India, Egypt, and Greece, from October 2005–March 2007.
