Ty Segall and Mikal Cronin San Francisco's Ty Segall of Epsilons, The Traditional Fools, and Sic Alps fame (as well as a budding and well-received solo career) has joined forces with Los Angeles' Charlie & The Moonhearts main man (and current bassist of the touring Ty Segall outfit) Mikal Cronin for a project that combines the overlapping musical aesthetic of both members. They cut a solid and short 7" together called "Pop Songs" that shows garage-y, lo-fi, frat rock goodness. In December 2009, they released "Reverse Shark Attack" on Kill Shaman, an album unlike any others the two have done before. It keeps with the garage style (and throws in a little of the classic surf of The Traditional Fools), but has an overall strong psychedelic feel to it as well. Absolutely killer.
