The thrush Puppies were formed as far as i can remember around 1993. I am the original bass player who wrote all of the songs with them & spent most of the time rehearsing, gigging & travelling in the back of a transit van. Vocals was joolz, drums loz & bass ant (me).
we had a peel session in 1994 which consisted of tracks offside, mayqueen, guily & tart/bint.
Tart/bint was actually my composed song as i hated tarts & called them bints. it took john peel most of the day to figure out if bint would be allowed over the airwaves. eventually it was. the only lyric i came out with was tart bint the rest of the lyrics were written by joolz as i expressed my hatred & anger to her about tatrs & she put pen to paper i just gave her tart & bint to get her going.
I think i actually left the band around 1996. Another bass player joined them for a short spell before they finished. we were getting towards the end of being together but do occasionally keep in touch & i love them to bits for the memories i have with them.
