Artist Info

Sweet Juice

Data provided by DiscogsSWEET JUICE are a Father and Son music duo…
A bit like Steptoe and Son if their rag and bone yard was full of old, half broken musical equipment…
Malcolm Doherty (GoKart Mozart, Great Electric) - Drums, guitar, piano.
Calum McQ (A Lifetime with Mercury, Gabi Garbutt) - Bass, Programming, synths.

Trapped in their flat in Camberwell during lockdown the duo overcame boredom by jamming and fiddling around and tunes began to formulate. Inspired by a mutual love of early Talking Heads, Television, Krafwerk, Eno and Can, the pair embarked on a trip of pure creative freedom, conceived with no agenda and realised with the very limited equipment at their disposal - this self titled instrumental album is the result.

Here, for the nerds, is what they used to make it…
Keys - Young Chang upright piano, Microkorg, Korg Monotron, Korg Kaosilator, Casio-VLtone, Yamaha Portasound PSS140
Guitars - Hofner Bass, Fender Telecaster, Fender Blues Deluxe Amp, Pignose Amp, Ampeg bass combo. E-bow
Drums - Ludwig Club Date Blue Sparkle ’67
Pedals - Eventide H9, Eventide Rose, Big Muff fuzz, Electro Harmonix ‘Holy Grail’ reverb & Pitchfork, Roland RE20 Space Echo, Earthquaker
Avalanche Run. Boss TR2, Phase shifter & Blues Driver.
Microphones - Sure SM57, Sure SM58.
