Swathes' 'Flintshire kosmische' is the solo work of Matty Webber. A work that began in 2009 to fill vacant support slots at the gigs he was promoting. Swathes' debut set and early recordings led to features in the music press and national airplay; only for Swathes to fade into the ether in 2011.

In late 2023 demos appeared, followed by a session for Dandelion Radio in May 2024. That summer, recording started for the Newlands Pass EP; an EP that distils Matty's loves of krautrock, shoegaze, and electronica, and draws inspiration from the contrasting surroundings of Deeside and the Lake District.
