Schnauser

Powered by Audioscrobbler™Schnauser are four musicians from Bristol, UK who play melodic pop/rock awash with complex chord changes, harmonies, black humour and odd time signatures. The band was started by singer Alan Strawbridge as solo project after his previous band, The Lucky Bishops ceased to exist. Bass player Holly McIntosh joined in 2007 followed by drummer John Fowle in 2008 and keyboard player Duncan Gammon (who had been releasing albums as Lord Gammonshire) in 2011. Due to family commitments, John Fowle left the band and was replaced by Jasper Williams in September 2012.

Schnauser are:
Alan Strawbridge - Guitar, Vocals
Duncan Gammon - Keyboards, Vocals.
Holly McIntosh - Bass, Vocals
Jasper Williams - Drums

Musically, Schnauser could be filed alongside current artists such as Field Music , Super Furry Animals , Euros Childs , and the Flaming Lips with earlier influences such as the Kinks , Soft Machine , Todd Rundgren and 10cc audible in their lyrics and sound.

We are currently recording the follow-up to 2010's "The Sound of Meat" which garnered the following reviews from the UK press:

‘Schnauser smear flip pop-cultural analysis over Beach Boys harmonies and the sort of baroque inflections favoured by Todd Rundgren and The Raspberries .’
(Stewart Lee, The Sunday Times)
‘A failsafe combination of melodious, inventive songwriting, energetically airtight musicianship, eo-psych bendiness and an irrepressible classic pop sensibility.’
(Marco Rossi, Record Collector)
‘Virtually from beginning to end, this is a hyperactive, dizzying splurge
of Dukes-alike psych-eccentrity, regularly pulling into Toytown station but
with the occasional message from Cynics-R-Us to keep things grounded.’
(Mick Capewell, Shindig)

The band's first CD 'Kill all humans' was completed in 2005 and is available to download from iTunes and Spotify.
