Sarongs began in Lindsey's beer soaked kitchen late one evening at a Syracuse house show in Summer 2010. The McAndrew brothers (Tyler, an aspiring author/academic and Phil, the already established internet comic sensation) excitedly approached her after she played a few crappy surf-inspired songs before Andrew set up his solo project, Howdy, in her sweaty attic.
After a few practices they roped Andrew but lost Phil to his girlfriend and comics. Immediately Lindsey contacted Wes, a former drum corp leader, and set up a time to meet. What has evolved since those first practices is a genre defying blend of darkwave, surf, no-wave and post-punk that is sure to draw blood. From somewhere.
