Rhys

Powered by Audioscrobbler™There are at least two artist with the name Rhys.

1. Swedish singer who had a hit in 2017 with the song Last Dance.

2. Rhys, the star of 2008’s ‘So You Think You Can Dance’, would like to introduce you to your Summer anthem - Hot Summer.

Rhys has come a long way in the last 12 months. This time last year he was auditioning for the Top 100 in TEN's 'So You Think You Can Dance'. In June this year Rhys was dancing on the show’s final for a television audience of 2 million people. Rhys made a spectacular impact on fans of the show; he was colorful, charismatic and charming - the stand out star of the series.
Rhys has spent the last six months fulfilling his life long dream of recording an album. He has teamed up with the boys from Super Shake productions - the Sydney production team behind the summer remix smash 'Something Good 08' - to create a popular hit with a credible dance edge.

Introducing ‘Hot Summer’ - Rhys’ debut single, and your soundtrack for 3 months of hot days and even hotter nights. Led by a thumping verse and wailing war-cries, eviscerated bass-lines soar into a sun drenched chorus. It’s white hot. Just ask Network TEN, who will be featuring ‘Hot Summer’ as their new national promotions hook from late November to February 09.

As we saw on TEN’s ‘So You Think You Can Dance’, Rhys’ personality, much like his music tastes, are delightfully unpredictable; 'For me music and movement have always gone hand in hand. I like anything that makes me wanna dance. Be it indy and disco, to soulful house and gospel. Growing up at the Johnny Young Talent School has definitely defined my eclectic tastes. Throw in some electro, breaks and I’m there! Major influences on me have been the likes of Prince, ELO, Madonna, Queen, Daft Punk, Madonna and Basement Jaxx. I’m also totally inspired by some amazing Aussie acts at the moment, like the Presets, Midnight Juggernauts, Gotye and Van She.'

Already sure to be a crossover club smash, Hot Summer is supported by remixes from some equally hot Australian talent.

From Canberra, The Aston Shuffle lead the charge, adding Prince-eqsue disco fireworks and staccato demolition to mix.
Trumpdisco, emerging from the darkest recesses of Melbourne's infamous all-weekend clubs, push the original from 'Hot' to 'Burnt' while home-town contemporaries The Hundreds and Thousands reminisce about summertime pool parties that stretch long into the night. It’s going to be a hot summer indeed…
