Artist Info

Pol

Powered by Audioscrobbler™There are at least five different acts called Pol or POL.

1. POL are German electronic / Krautrock / ambient composers Marcus Schmickler, Carsten Schulz and Christoph Kahse. They have released two albums: Transomuba (1994), on which they mix field recordings, world- and techno music and even some metal, plus a soundtrack to the film 'Baby I Will Make You Sweat' (1995) by Birgit Hein.

2. An electronic music producer since 1991, POL produces a music strongly inspired by EBM from the 80’s and ELECTRO from nowadays, he calls it "neo-industrial". He perfoms this music on stage in a dark-stomping live set. At the same time, he proposes some electro laptop-dj set mixing the last techno-electro hits with some unreleased tunes from his or friends own production. He’s the host of MAELSTROM radio show (electro, electronica, idm, ambient…) on the Internet radio www.basic.ch from which he is one of the founders. POL also creates interactives sound installations in which the public interacts directly with the sound environment. POL did perform in renowned venues such as Luxx in New York City, WMF in Berlin, Batofar in Paris, Luxclub in Lisbon, or the Discotheque in Barcelona.

3. Pol is a young Dutch band, heavily inspired by 1980s new wave and fronted by brother Matthijs and Ruben Pol.

4. POL is an acronym for the Finnish mixed choir Pohjalaisten Osakuntien Laulajat, based in Helsinki, Finland.

5. POL, aka Pablo Stescovich, is an Argentinian trance music producer.
