Lucy And The Popsonics are based in Brasilia and bring us a new teenage sound. The band is not part of the mainstream Brasilian musical culture and/or is making music outside its influence. Pil Popsonic and Fernanda Popsonic define themselves as a losers "playmobil-punk couple". The noise that comes from them is an invitation to shake your head all night long with friends and beers. Influences are Punk Rock and Electronic Dance music but there is a brutality and simplicity, which along with the Portugese language (more often associated with cool jazz and bosa nova) make this something new and exciting.
