4) The late Lily (りりィ) (real name Saeko Kamata) was a twenty-year-old folk singer when her first album ( Onion ) was released on May 5th 1972. Her husky voice and gentle, whimsical style captured the hearts of the new Japanese folk scene, and some attempts were made to cross her cult over to an English-speaking audience. Her music took on a harder and funkier edge as the 70s wore on and she racked up a string of impressively consistent albums and singles before her retirement and subsequent untimely passing in November 2016. http://www.japrocksampler.com/artists/japrock/lily/
