Levellers 5

Powered by Audioscrobbler™Not to be confused with the somewhat different Levellers, Levellers 5 were (unsurprisingly) a five-piece post-punk band from Darwen, Lancashire.

The band released their debut album, Springtime, in 1990 to a rapturous reception... from John Peel and nobody else. Containing such stunning tracks as Next Big Thing and Be Happy it should have seen some success but it failed to and the band remained in total obscurity.

The band recorded three Peel sessions, two in 1990 and a last one in 1992.

The success of the Levellers, eventually forced the band to change their name to Calvin Party.
