Lazy Habits

Powered by Audioscrobbler™Originally the brainchild of one MC, Lazy Habits now stand as an eight piece live Hip Hop band. Merging elements of hip hop inc Decks (DJ Itchi) Rhymes (MC Lazy and Skin Horse) and Wandan, one of the UK finest Beatboxers, with a live band inc Drums, Bass, and a jazz based Brass Section.

Lazy Habits have performed at London’s best clubs from Cargo to Koko and the Jazz Café. They have also headlined their own sold out nights at the Water Rats and prestigious Marquee Club, and have smashed up venues across the UK, sharing stages with the likes of Sway (MOBO Award winner 2005); Akala (MOBO Award winner 2006); The Magic Numbers; Desmond Decker; Soulwax; The Heritage Orchestra and the Foreign Beggars among others.

Having already played some of the best festivals across the UK and Ireland inc Glastonbury, Big Chill, Edinburgh Fringe, Electric Picnic, Endorse-It and Secret Garden, Lazy Habits still continue to push the boundaries of the music they produce both in the studio and on stage placing a huge emphasis on their live shows, incorporating guest MC’s, Beatboxers and Freestyle sections with the brass and bass led band seamlessly switching from track to track like a DJ.

“Frankly awe-inspiring” - BBC.co.uk

“Next time someone mentions hip hop drop this lots name as a must see”
“Lazy Habits are the future” – E-Festivals

“I used to believe The Roots were the only group who could excel at MC’ing backed by a live band, but Lazy Habits have changed my mind” - Great Scott, Undercover Magazine

“Our new favourite band” - Lost vagueness

Their debut, Surface Dirt EP, released through their own label, ‘Run N Jump Records‘ in Autumn 2006, sold out its limited CD run, attracting praise and airplay from Huw Stevens on BBC Radio 1.

2007’s (on the) Wagon EP earned the reputation as one of the strongest UK Hip Hop releases of the year, gaining airplay on Radio 1, on both the Steve Lamacq and Ras Kwame shows, Itch FM, Pulse FM, Kerrang Radio and HHB among others. EP tracks also appeared on the soundtrack to MTV’s Barrio 19 and D.I.Y series.
