Jan Strach

Powered by Audioscrobbler™Jan Strach, the creator of Underpolen collective.

Amateur musician, with emphasis on "amateur", can play a handful of instruments, but none of them really well. Can't hold a note, can't scream too long, otherwise the neighbours will complain. Has a million ideas everyday and does what he can within the narrow frames of his abilities.

He tries to play folk in Poj.Wlkp., he screamed and mangled his electric guitar in Projekt Luty, he tried to be psychedelic on guitar and keyboards in Momolot. He really tried. As Numbruk he growls and whines accompanied by harsh dhc backgrounds. Then his throat hurts. In SOT 45, he manipulates collected sounds to match his abstract ideas inspired by too many interests and hobbies. In Wuj Mietek he got drunk and improvised lyrics to intricate Casio grooves.

Then he decided to record a genuine solo album - that means, not to limit himself to a single idea or genre, but instead let his consciousness loose. No rules were present - every idea had to be realised, every stupid verse found its place within the lyrics. No professional equipment was present. The result is a hideous and gorgeous "Akcja Zorganizowanej Przecietnosci". The next album is in works now, hopefully a bit more consistent, but equally wild and unpredictible.
