Powered by Audioscrobbler™Gnaw Their Tongues is an experimental drone/noise black metal project, conceived by Maurice de Jong, originating from Drachten, The Netherlands in 2005. The moniker of the project derives its name from a biblical verse.

The lyrical themes explored by Gnaw Their Tongues encompass subjects such as bondage, torture, and morbid esoterica. Notably, tracks from Gnaw Their Tongues have been featured on various compilations including Black Industrial Grimoire, Mind the Gap Volume 77, Oaken Throne 6, and The Static Hymnal.

Prior to the establishment of Gnaw Their Tongues, Maurice de Jong was involved in a band called Ophiuchus. However, with the exception of a few tracks, no further releases were made under the Ophiuchus moniker.
