Gentle Mystics

The Gentle Mystics were a trio which miraculously tripled into a full blown 9-piece band with a finished album and every musical instrument under the sun, almost.

With such a wide range of ages and tastes, the explosion that happens when the Mystics put their minds together can sometimes be baffling, or perhaps ‘sound like a cat being sick on a boat’, but somewhere in the chaos, the sound of the Mystics always comes stumbling out in its beautiful and bewitching stagger, known to have made many a floor bounce.

The album was mainly recorded in El’s little box studio, while parts where recorded in the legendary SARM Studios. It has just been mixed by Adrian Sherwood’s protégé Brendon ‘Octave’ Harding from the pioneering On-U Sound label and is due for general release in late 2010, guided by their own wizardry. This summer (2010) there will be a host of highly mystical events around the UK and pockets of the world. Those who caught their previous performances at Secret Garden, Passing Clouds, Au Fond Du Jardin Du Michel, Sometimes, Cellar Door Vaudeville, Cargo and various warehouses will know that one thing is crystal clear - a melodious lightning storm is brewing.
