Flake Brown’s real name is Tony Ramsay. He was born in Essex but moved around a lot as a kid, spending 17 years of his life in Scotland.
Tony developed a love of folk music and ragtime guitar picking early on, greatly inspired by the music of Django Reinhardt.
He left home to study philosophy, believing it would make him wise, but he couldn’t handle the pressure, so he started busking and playing in bands, occasionally travelling around and roughing it in barns and stone-age burial mounds.
He became a family man a few years back with the birth of his first child. He now has 3 lovely daughters, a beautiful wife, and 2 cats, and writes a song whenever the mood takes him.
