Das deutsch/englische Punk Rock Joint Venture CORNER BOYS steht erst am Anfang seiner Karriere und wird in den kommenden Tagen eine 3-Track Promo CD mit dem Titel Molotov Cocktail herausbringen, pünktlich zu den ersten Auftritten, teils zusammen mit Seattle´s finest THE BOSS MARTIANS.
An Erfahrung mangelt es allerdings kaum angesichts dieses Line-Up: Vom Ritchie, bekannt als langjährige Schlagzeuger der TOTEN HOSEN und THE BOYS, der schon in den 80ern Charterfolge mit DOCTOR AND THE MEDICS feierte, seitdem keinen Tag gealtert zu sein scheint und in der Zwischenzeit u.a. auch für STIV BATORS und 999 und B-BANG CIDER die Felle malträtierte.
Pascal Briggs, der sich als Gitarrist von DISTRICT und Sänger der legendären PUBLIC TOYS einen Namen machte und beide Parts auch auf der Abschiedstour der REVOLVERS übernahm.
Thommy Snide, Gitarrist der berüchtigten Polka-Punks THE BEATLESONS und SKUYELA sowie Gastmusiker in vielen Projekten, z.B. mit FEHLFARBEN´s PETER HEIN oder HONEST JOHN PLAIN & THE AMIGOS. Alle drei sind ausserdem auch Mitglieder der kompromisslosen Brit-Punk Rocker THE SPITTIN VICARS.
Komplettiert wird die Band durch Trip Tom, der sein herausragendes Talent auch bei der Pop-Punk Formation KIM unter Beweis stellt.
In dieser Konstellation zusammengefunden haben die Vier sich schließlich 2006 um den Punk-Wegbereiter und ehemaligen ADVERTS Mastermind TV SMITH auf seiner Tour als Backing-Band zu begleiten. Die aufgeladenen Shows wurden vom Publikum frenetisch gefeiert und Fans und Band waren gleichermaßen begeistert. Der Schritt als eigenständige Band mit eigenen Songs weiterzumachen war somit nicht weit. Auf der Tour wurde jedoch auch folgende Regel etabliert: Wer durch nicht ganz vorbildhaftes Verhalten auffiel musste demütig in der Ecke stehen... Die CORNER BOYS waren geboren!


Drumming Monkey Records introduces the new English / German collaboration CORNER BOYS. Although a new band ( first show Halloween 2007 !!! ) , the members are not new to each other having all played together on TV SMITHS ' Misinformation Overload ' tour . The dynamics of the band and between members worked so well that they decided to continue playing as a band and the songs began to evolve instantaneously.
Aside from the TV SMITH tour all of them have been involved in many other bands and projects , the line up consists of - Drums: Vom Ritchie , drummer of DIE TOTEN HOSEN, THE BOYS and WET DOG, and who previously played with such names as STIV BATORS , 999, IAN HUNTER , DOCTOR AND THE MEDICS and B-BANG CIDER.
Guitar and Vocals: Pascal Briggs , the guitarist from DISTRICT , singer from the legendary PUBLIC TOYS, who also joined the final REVOLVERS tour. Guitar : Tommy Snide , guitarist with Polka-Punks THE BEATLESONS , and who collaborated with FEHLFARBEN's PETER HEIN and HONEST JOHN PLAIN & THE AMIGOS.
Trip Tom: Bass and Vocals , the new young genius and founder member of KIM who are currently recording and playing to young enthusiastic audiences all over Germany .
Vom , Pascal and Thomas play alongside John Codger and Vince Incredible in the uncompromising SPITTIN' VICARS who are planning a new album for next year.
The CORNER BOYS have just recorded a 3 track promo single including the classic ' Molotov Cocktail ' , the short but tragic ' Where the Hell Were You ' and ' Lie to Me ' a Pogueish-Schlager-Tango with backing Vocals from the infamous Monique Maasen.
The band, who's name derives from a tour joke whereby members who acted or said something beyond the boundaries of good taste were instructed to stand in the corner, are setting out for their first dates with Seattle heroes BOSS MARTIANS in November . Keep an eye and ear out for the band who will definitely be playing in a corner near you.
