Artist Info

Chino

Powered by Audioscrobbler™Chino here refers to multiple artists.
1. Multi-disciplinary artist, whose work incorporates music production, live performance and graphic design. An avid mountaineer.
Having grown up in the post-industrial bleakness of 90’s Katowice, he was originally drawn to graffiti art, and soon enough to the music that often accompanied it at the time – classic electro and industrial.
These twin interests have fuelled his creative endeavours ever since, leading him on the one hand to study and eventually teach at the city’s Academy of Fine Arts, and on the other to explore sound and rhythm – from early experiments with desktop micro-sampling, through the discovery of analogue synthesis, all the way to immersing himself in the praxis of live performance, spanning full-impact peak-time sets, far out late night odysseys, and extended offbeat improvisations.
Deftly integrating a wide array of tools basic and arcane, vintage and state-of-the-art, Chino creates machine music par excellence, with a stark, brutalist property to it, but never without a spark of human soul shining through its dense layers. Even in the studio, he remains a live performer at heart, his output having a lot of the spontaneous intensity of his shows.
Chino is also one of the founders of Radar – originally a creditable (if short-lived) Kraków club, surviving as a collective and an event series, both crucial to the city’s underground scene. Apart from regular performances, and taking part in shaping policy, Chino is in charge of Radar’s visual aspect, where his penchant for converging music and art finds one of its most pronounced outlets.
He has been releasing on Recognition, S1 Warsaw, Holger, Altered States Tapes and Shtum.
His musical exploits have taken him as far as Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Ukraine, Russia, Israel, Italy, Netherlands, Georgia, Czech Republic and Albania. And Germany.

2. Combining versatility with style and determination defines the energetic finesse of Chino. This DJ/producer from Miami, FL has already made great strides amongst the drum and bass circuit in his relatively short time behind the boards.
Chinos influences date back to early childhood having started musical training at age five and moving from piano and guitar on to violin, viola, and cello. As a teenager he discovered his parents collection of Latin folk music and took on his mothers love of old disco, funk, and soul.
In 1998 Chino discovered drum and bass and hasnt looked back since. LTJ Bukems Atlantis wet his palette towards drum and bass textures and he cites Ed Rush and Opticals classic Wormhole LP as the icing on the cake. He soon took on DJing and shortly after began his foray into production.
Chino landed his first release, Temple of the Sun, on New Identity Recordings and this tune went on to grace drum and bass icon Fabios weekly broadcast on the BBCs Radio 1 station. Since then he has also released on labels such as Avalanche and Renegade and has a slew of forthcoming releases on Gasm, New Identity, Intrinsic and Renegade Recordings. As Chino turns his sights on the future look for more top notch production running the gamut from head-nod inducing smoothed-out-soul to dance floor mayhem and sound system menaces. Notable not only as a producer, but also a quite skilled DJ, Chino is pushing the sounds of deep and moving music with his musical contributions.

3. Chino was a power pop/punk/indie rock band from Montreal, Quebec, Canada. The band was formed in the late 90's by former Nils vocalist/guitarist, Alex Soria, after that band had broken up. They released the Mala Leche EP on Mag Wheel Records in 1999. The album's sound was in a similar vein as bands like Husker Du, the Asexuals, Soria's own Nils. Due to a Nils reunion in the early 2000's and Alex Soria's tragic passing in 2004 the band dissolved.

4. CHINO is also a Japanese artist who performed the closing theme of the game Fate/stay night.

5. Chino is a Philadelphia, PA area punk rock band. Their album "Living Room" is the most recent release.

6. Chino is a Jamaican dancehall DJ. No commercial albums have been released as yet from him but he has had some popular success on the back of his 'for the girls' single. Chino was recently in the middle of a controversial feud with fellow deejay Munga Honoreble.

7. Chino is a swedish rapper, but rap is not the only music genre.
But for now, rap is all there is. Punk/HC/screamo will become the new way for chino in the not so distant future.

8. Ukrainian rapper. Also known as Альпачіно
