Caroline Martin

Powered by Audioscrobbler™Bristol born Caroline Martin started writing and recording in 1996. At this point in her life she was living on the edge of Wentwood Forest in South Wales. With her dog for company, Caroline drew on her surroundings, the isolation and memories from her childhood upbringing in Yate to write her stories of loss, fear and revenge.

Caroline released her debut 5 track EP - Young Tender Rabbit Meat - on her own label in 1998. Legendary Radio 1 DJ John Peel played every track on his show and invited Caroline in to record her first session for his show in 1999. Over the following 5 years Caroline recorded a futher 3 sessions for his show.

Caroline's second EP - Monn - was a painstakingly home-made production.

Her debut album - I Had A Hundred More Reasons To Stay By The Fire - was released in 2004. This prompted a further two sessions for Radio 1, and a Uk tour. The 16-track album - aside from the 7 Peel session tracks licensed from the BBC - consist of mostly home, self-recorded solo tracks deliberately recorded with minimal equipment and complete solitude.

In 2007 Caroline's 4th recording was released - an 8 track EP - Broken - a limited-release of 250-copies. No apologies made (or needed) for the completely self-indulgent broken-hearted recordings.

The second full-length album is currently being recorded - due for release at the end of this year.
