Artist Info

Actiongroup

Powered by Audioscrobbler™Eclectic 5 piece from Edinburgh. Encompassing Pop, Rock, Motorik, Electronic... and with 2 songwriters there is a distinct light and shade to the tunes, especially when the songs are written eyeball to eyeball. If one thing links the two persona's, that is their endulgance in harmony.

ActionGroup have maintained the same philosophy since they started in 2005 at Edinburgh College of Art; to play whatever they feel is right at that moment. Mixing a myriad of influences and sparking off each other, theyre a group who genuinely enjoy the live experience.

In 2005, Boggon & Donnelly start writing together and record all material on home computers. Dylan is in, a champion and fan. He becomes a core member, and they work together towards a live realization of the songs. Members come and go but three remain.

The bulk of material is milled and a debut album of polished demos results to critical acclaim. 07 Action Group continue in their attempt to find themselves the right line-up for the band. Forced in to performing drummerless or laptop driven for a while, pleasing results and stripped down versions plant a seed of remaining simpler.

Young Adam joins on drums and electronix and the group finally find their strength. Strength in common vision seems the way forward. Rhythm is fore-fronted of late and exciting new material is ready and waiting to be baked in to a set of E.P.s followed by full flavour Album #2

With a regular gigging schedule and a new single 'Clot/Take It' coming out in August, ActionGroup will be taking their sound to a different place from their acclaimed debut album Greed. With festival appearances and shows all over UK planned, ActionGroup are hoping to bring their infectious melodies to anyone who will listen!

Influences; Can, Talking Heads/Eno, Pixies, Beach Boys, Kraftwerk, Beatles, Queen, Queens of The Stone Age, Strokes...........
