Andy has two shows in Dandelion Radio's October schedule. His regular show features new and exciting music from Arab Strap, Kelly Lee Owens, Ride, Samuel Organ, Slowdiveand Alan Sparhawk. There's a 21 year old Andy's Old Chestnut from Echoboy, a brilliant cover version by CHVRCHES appropriate to this month's Halloween celebrations, plus you'll hear a live track by A Certain Ratio from a very limited vinyl-only live album recorded on 2 August, and released just two days later.

It's Gareth's annual Halloween spooktacular, with plenty of musical tricks and treats in the 1st hour, from the sinister surf guitar sounds of Black Flamingos to a rather bewitching song from The Primitives.

My time on Dandelion Radio, at least for the next three years, is coming to an end. I've got a load of studying to be getting on with soon and doing Dandelion Radio shows will need to stop to accommodate it. This could be my last show or I might be able to squeeze in one more. It won't be a massive loss to the station! :-)

To mark 20 years since the passing of our inspiration and guiding light John Peel, the show ends with a few of the tracks that Rocker will always associate with the great man.
This month's Rocker's Shellac Attack is a 1956 release out of Chicago, Illinois, while this month's Educating Elizabeth record is a Northern Soul classic from 1968, played to mark the sad passing of a soul original.
As well as little known acts, here's a little known fact: Californian punk band Bloodstains are named after the song by 80s Californian punk surf trio Agent Orange.

My most exciting discovery of the past month has been bedroom Bandcamp rock producer Skelephant from North Carolina. He's been quietly making albums for the past 7 or 8 years that can be best described lo-fi early Portugal the Man but also takee in the likes of BJM, Cosmic Americana et al. A lot of people try and make music like this and in the main it is over-produced gumph with little or no soul. Not the case here, the force is strong with this one and I'm hooked.
On the noisier side of things I'm loving CPC Gangbangs, another new one from Party Dozen and we go back to one of Australia's finest scuzz garage bands of the 60's, the Missing Links.
New releases from Chalice King, Bhajan Boy, Beauty Stab, Neon Kittens and for the first time in a very long time I play a Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds song off their latest album.
Session bassist and arranger Herbie Flowers passed this past month. He's the man that had you humming along to Take Walk on the Wild Side. You'll be surprised by some of the other tracks he worked on as well. I have featured 3 of them. It also amused me to know that he actually grew up just down the road from me in Ditchling, Sussex.
In the oldie basket I've got The Lurkers, Sid, Pink Military and Felt, who I've been re-discovering over the last couple of months. Lawrence is one of those true English musical eccentrics that deserves to be heard by a much wider audience.

A two hour show from Moon this month…
There are always a few meagre sprinklings of late 70s and early 80s tracks that he feels enthusiastic to invite people to listen to once again, or indeed be introduced to for the first time if these songs happen to have passed the listener by up until now. Groups such as The Escalators, Roky Erickson, and Bauhaus, for example… But, of course, the real pleasure is in coming across and playing new and new-ish discoveries.
In this vein, X-Ray Moon is excited to let the following musicians and artists cross his turntable, cassette player, and digital thingy ... Warmduscher, Gustaf, Jason Molina, Secret Tape, and the hauntingly wonderful Sanam.
He has also, as is his wont, fished out one or two of the stranger releases that have at some point found their way to being etched onto vinyl ...
