Many thanks to everyone at Dandelion who played our tracks throughout the year, especially Ste McCabe and Andrew Morrison. Also, we'd like to say a massive thank you to all who voted for our song 'Prostitute's Handbag' (in all its permutations). We were dead chuffed to make it into the Festive 50 and to get as high as number 11 was a wonderful surprise. Thank you.
If anyone's looking for us on myspace, we've deleted that account as myspace has died a death but please find us on facebook or at Nerve Echo.
All best for 2011 to everyone at Dandelion - you're ACE!
Just discovered you and wonderful to do so. Listening to festive. Loved The Horn The Hunt on the one hand; on the other hand, despite all the accolades and its technical brilliance, 'Hidden' by These New Puritans doesn't have the soul - too much in love with the music, not enough love for the song. I'm waiting for the soulful Amen Dunes to take a turn on Danelion. Oh, and you haven't got enough women djs. I do thank all that's great, good, but never ever godly, for the likes of you at Danelion though. You made my 2010. My heartfelt gratitude. Tamzir
I'm enjoying the selections in the Festive 50 warm up show.As always there are plenty that I'd forgotten about when I was deciding what to vote for. Thanks for another great year of Dandelion Radio. Have a good Christmas and all the best for 2011!
Admin reply: Thanks - it has been our pleasure to entertain over the last year

I love this station, and I listen all the time, and you really do perpetuate the spirit of Peel, in all but one respect. It pains me to say this, but there is simply not enough track by track variation by any of the DJs, although some are better at this than others. One of the key aspects of Peels shows was the sheer exhilaration of going to one extreme to the other, going from the familiar to the 'what the f*** was that!" He hardly ever played two tracks in the same genre back to back. I'm not saying that there is no variation on Dandelion, particularly between shows, just not enough track by track differences.
Admin reply: Thanks for both the praise and the criticism. Regarding the selection of music and the juxtaposition of different music compared to the way that John Peel did it .... each of our DJs were Peel fans in their youth and beyond - but that was all at different times in history. The inspiration that they took from those periods continues to drive what they listen to today and hence what they play. We do try to play a lot of new material - often from unsigned bands. Some of our DJs mix that with older or very unusual content, perhaps like Peel would have done - but we do not insist on it. One of our younger DJs was recently heard asking in a show for recommendations for 50s music to help broaden personal awareness and to help drive what is played in future shows. Anyway, please do keep listening and recommend to your friends who share a taste for the unusual (at least compared to other stations) - but warn them that if they don't like what they hear then wait for 3 minutes or so and see what comes up next and then again a couple of times ... and failing that try tuning in at the same time the next day for something different. If you do have some specific recommendations for hings to play then plea do contact the DJs directly - they love getting feedback.
