Andrew Morrison - October 2019
There are two shows from Andy on Dandelion Radio in October. His regular two-hour show includes new music from We Show Up On Radar, Daniel Maunick, Trupa Trupa, Malcolm Middleton's alter ego Human Don't Be Angry, Epic45 and MOLLY. In addition, there are selections from new albums by Lust For Youth (who Andy was excited to finally see live in Camden Town last month), Lingua Nada and Ezra Furman (both of whom he'll being seeing live in October and November respectively). There's an impressive live rendition of Andy's favourite New Order song 'Shellshock' from their recent live CD, and also listen in for two songs whose titles reference this very station, including a country song seemingly named after it - or is this simply a massive coincidence...?

Elsewhere in the October schedule, you'll hear Andy's Peel Session Archives, marking 15 years since the death of BBC Radio 1's John Peel - the DJ who inspired Dandelion Radio (yes, it really has been that long). This hour-long special features twelve classic session tracks recorded exclusively for John's show between 1970 and 2001 from Peel stalwarts such as Curve, Joy Division, Syd Barrett, The Wedding Present, PJ Harvey, Inspiral Carpets, Pulp and - of course - The Fall.

The Beatbox Saboteurs Show - October 2019
October's show brings another splendid cacophony of tunes from our turntables, including tracks from Gumiho, Father Of Sam, Billy Bragg, Zanov, Judy Nylon, SamXVI and teen-sensations Polarized Eyes.
At times, the show has quite a personal feel to it and we mark the 15th anniversary of John Peel's death with some background history along with a couple of poignant tracks. Furthermore, we share some of the earliest recordings from our archives and a new Life As Surface Noise composition.
Our featured compilation is the exceptional "Tokyo Chikatetsu Vol 2" from the Japanese label, Thomas Imposter Records.
Please join us, if you can!

Gareth Jones - October 2019
This month I'm bringing you a Halloween spooktacular. No tricks, just 3 hours of pure musical treats. But don't worry, there isn't a ghost of a chance I'll be filling the entire 3 hours with scary songs! But we do kick off with recent releases from the aptly named Ghost Car and ZOMBIE-CHANG and there's some brand new songs about witches, wolves and ghosts.
Plus there's an extended edition of 'Secret Songs from the Sixties', featuring tracks from two new Halloween compilation albums: 'Trick Or Treat - Music To Scare Your Neighbours: Vintage 45s From Lux And Ivy's Haunted Basement' and 'Spook Show Spectacular A-Go-Go'.
In the 2nd hour I'll be joined by synth guru Alice Hubble who recently released her debut album 'Polarlichter' on Happy Robots Records. She'll be introducing 4 songs of her choice in the feature 'Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed, Something Blue'.
Then in the final hour there are some classic spooky instrumentals from Broadcast and Cowtown and some Halloween cover versions including 'People Are Strange' (and no, it's NOT the Echo & The Bunnymen cover!) and 'There's A Ghost In My House' (and no, it's NOT The Fall cover either!).
Plus of course there's heaps of new releases, from the experimental electronic sounds of Cosmo Sheldrake to a closing ode to Boris Johnson and Brexit from art-punks PMKS.

Leo Gilbert - October 2019
Two shows from me this month, to make up for missing September.
The three-hour episode really is a global treat, featuring tunes from South Africa (Africa Express), France (TVAM), Ghana (Free Youth), Mexico (Edgar Mondragon), Sweden (Robyn), Norway (Röyksopp), Germany (Dominik Eulberg), Slovenia (Širom), Italy (Pinhdar) and many other spots on the surface of our polluted planet.
The two-hour escapade is bursting with tunes of all shades, colours and disreputable backgrounds from all over the world. Jane Weaver pops up twice, once as herself and once in her new guise as Fenella, while Marika Hackman does not hold back in telling us what she rather exhaustingly gets up to all night.
Believe it or not, there's more besides, so why not listen in?

Jane Weaver pops up twice, once as herself and once in her new guise as Fenella, while Marika Hackman does not hold back in telling us what she rather exhaustingly gets up to all night. I have two Marks, a Jangly one navigating us home from The Morning After the Party, and a Dark one, working with Not Waving on Murder in Fugue.
Electro bangers come in the form of Si Begg and Derailleur, while there are remixes of Fever Ray, Flume, Thom Yorke and The Horrors. Kim Gordon's excoriating first solo output is a real highlight, and I mark the sad death of Daniel Johnston by playing one of my favourites of his tunes. And, believe it or not, there's more besides, so why not listen in?

Mark Cunliffe - October 2019
I left recording this show, for unforeseen circumstances, 'til the very last day before I reached my extended deadline. I felt like a student again who just couldn't get into that latest homework ... except this is enjoyable ... So, what's occurring?
Pet Crow are back with a new tune off their forthcoming album and, rather amazingly, after so long in the wilderness, Cy Kosis has made a breakbeat tune and it's a goodun. The main man from Grawlix has a new project called ((M A R I A)) and it's rather marvellous. There is a new genre to me called Phonk and we are hearing N64KIDDO providing us with that flavour.
Steven James Adams has a new project that I'm playing, he's teamed up with an old Broken Family Band mate, Timothy Victor and they have called it Portland Brothers. My old mate Jimmy Davis is going under the name T8pes now and I have something from him.
I also have two features, one is from an EP the marvellous Thomas Blatchford has already played a track off, it's by Dry Cleaning and I'm a big fan of it. The second is an album by Girls In Synthesis and was released a few months ago but I've only just come across it and I think it's flippin' good!

Mark Whitby - October 2019
The enormous volume of music coming in from around the globe sees us return to a three hour format this month. This includes a featured compilation in the form of the second volume of the Tokyo Chikatetsu series, along with new releases from Threes And Will from Estonia, Sweden's The Idealist, Australia's Piss Factory and Bernays Propaganda from Macedonia. We also introduce Finland's Jaako Laitinen and Vaara Raha and Czech Republic's Blaq Mummy alongside a couple of cracking reissued albums from Ghana's Ebo Taylor Jr & Wuta Wazutu and compilation of tunes from late sixties/early seventies Madagascar.
There are new releases from long-standing show favourites Bloomin' Nora and Dalmatian Rex & The Eigentones, a preview of the forthcoming Guerilla Toss EP, a Toadface remix of Psymbionic and a Douglas Deep remix of Diane Marie Kloba.
Our Peel Back... feature throws up classic tracks from 1979 and 1989 and we also cast an appreciative glance at a couple of very welcome Peel Session compilations and a track apiece from the new Luaka Bop gospel compilation and yet another slab of hillbilly mischief from Iron Mountain Analogue Research.

Pete Jackson - October 2019
After a couple of quiet months, Pete's back with a couple of hours of noises, both familiar. like show favourites Moon Duo, Bonnacons of Doom, Mungo's Hi Fi and Night Beats, and less familiar, including Polish psych from Morze, Finnish EDM from Vladislav Delay and Costa Rican calypso from the centenarian Walter Gavitt Ferguson.
You'll also find some familiar names making their first appearances on the show, including acid house legends 808 State and former snooker World Champion Steve Davis as part of experimental trio The Utopia Strong.

Rocker - October 2019
A two hour show this month, including new tracks from Captain Ska; Comet Gain; Jangly Mark; Neighborhood Brats; Jowe Head & The Fleeting Glimpses; The Memory Fades; Blue Orchids; Studio Electrophonique; Personal Best; The Flatmates; CTMF; Young Guv and Soot Sprite.
There's electronica from ANNA & Miss Kittin; Rafael Cerato and ARTBAT. The Twelve Hour Foundation add electronics to Kissamatic Lovebubbles while Jetstream Pony give Blue Oyster Cult a good seeing to.
There's a fantastic new extended track by Paul Rooney, in the distinctive audio collage style that he pioneered with Lucy Over Lancashire back in 2007. There's also a track from the legendary first and only album by The Motorcycle Boy, recorded in 1988 but only getting a release in 2019. Also from 1988 a classic from The Springfields, now included on a Slumberland Records' compilation.
This month's Educating Elizabeth record is a Northern Soul gem from NYC 1967; while this month's Rocker's Shellac Attack is a 1941 recording of a song later made famous by The King Of The Surf Guitar.
As well as little known acts, here's a little known fact: the song Misirlou, the 1962 recording of which by Dick Dale was immortalised by Quentin Tarantino in Pulp Fiction, has origins in the Ottoman empire of the early 20th century. It was brought to America by Greeks fleeing genocide, and Dale heard it played on the oud, by his Lebanese uncle.

Sean Hocking - October 2019
Another 4 hours from me this month and as always lots of wonderful things left on the cutting room floor. That said the even more wonderful things made the show.
Personal favourite this month is Gordon Koang a refugee from South Sudan living in Melbourne, he's still only on a temporary visa so doesn't know if he'll get to stay in Australia or be sent back to South Sudan, but it's not stopping him making music and we're glad that's the case. Also out of Australia we have a plethora of new releases from the likes of Bananagun, Disco Junk & Civic amongst others.
This month's anti-brexit songs come from Alan Jenkins, Bob Vylan and Rabo de Toro and talking of Alan Jenkins, his cover of Search & Destroy is one of the best things I have heard this year, if you like what you hear, do check out the rest of his catalogue another great English songwriter I wish I had come across earlier.
Had to include a couple of different sounding covers this month and have been wanting to include Floyd Parsons Italo ambient version of Shine on you crazy diamond for yonks and came across the Kleins covering Devo's Mongoloid, last month and knew I had to find a space for it in the show.
Saw Justin Townes Earl last month having not really listened to him much. A total revelation live and if he's ever schlepping through your neck of the woods make sure you pick up a ticket to see him, I've included a track off his debut EP from 2012 if you've not come across his songs before.
As always I hope you enjoy the show and remember it's not long until we all have to start thinking about this year's Festive 50. I'm already in the whittling down stage.

Thomas Blatchford - October 2019
This Octoberly episode of the Thomas wingding is dedicated to Daniel Johnston and is bookended by two of Thomas' favourite songs, both by the man in question.
There seems to be an abundance of covers and remixes this month, with classic hits reimagined by Neana, Screaming Females, Katzenjammers and Girls On Top, alongside Waterfall Person and Simkin reworking their own tracks.
Rave is adequately represented too, not least because of two total thumpers from the Repeat compilation put out by Gasman Music, and the recent first official release of DJ Bogdan's legendary 1993 tune "Love Inna Basement".
Plus there's a huge chunk of the new record by Dandelion favourite Paul Rooney, his first single since the life-altering 2007 monster "Lucy Over Lancashire". Free your body and your mind!

Trev - October 2019
October rolls in. And it's been hectic month on the listening front. New songs from Suggested Friends, Maybe Don't, The Leaf Library, Clara Joy and Gross Net (featuring Philip Quinn, ex Girls Names) amongst many others.
Elsewhere The Darling Buds cover Kirsty McColl and in 'Shop Corner' (where I play tracks from records that have come in to my second hand record shop) - there are a couple of crackers from Hawkwind and My Bloody Valentine.
