Lee Adcock - October 2016 Guys. October should be a time for contemplating disguises, for plotting alter egos and concocting transformative spells. Me, I haven't quite decided what to shift into, but I'm thinking it'll involve a fake rapier. ANYWAY, what better time to air some spooky good stuff from our friends in the shadows? Jenny Hval will masquerade as a latter-day vampire; Richie Brains will man the gore-riddled decks at the dance party; Yeah You will wear the freaky masks and scare all the little trick-or-treaters at the front door; Spaceships & Beer shall appear in super-geeky costumes that only the other gamers in the room will understand. Also, The Wolfhounds are back to howl at the moon; Virgin of the Birds will serenade us by moonlight; and, in the dead of night, a few necromancers will summon demons from a hazy post-punk past. There's also, erm, a very shimmering 20-minute piano piece which won't squeeze into this whole Halloween theme at all, so let's not bother, eh. And, as always, the other riff-raff. Come in, if you dare...

Mark Whitby - October 2016 A session mix from Nilaesh, his first for the show provides a glorious centrepiece this month. We also feature releases from past session guests Vert:x The Bordellos and Antony Harding as well as something from Chuck, who'll have a session for us next month. Our featured compilation is an album of Hüsker Dü covers courtesy of The Blog That Celebrates Itself. There's a track from the new Goat album as The Swedes line up alongside releases from France's Ellah A. Thaun, Artykuly Rolne from Poland, Estonia's Threes And Will and something from the stunning new album from Norway's Moddi. This month's Peel Back... recalls momentous moments from forty and twenty years ago this month. There's also something from Peel favourites The Wedding Present and a couple of blasts from the past culled from the fortieth anniversary reissue of the first Ramones album. Oh, and Tomorrow The Rain Will Fall Upwards: that's not a weather forecast - it's the mystery artist whose latest release on the Blackest Ever Black is, for me, one of the highlights of the year so far.

Rocker - October 2016 A three hour show featuring new music from Karen; This Heel; Camp Shy; Hodad; The Wedding Present; Baltic Fleet; Rainbow Reservoir; The Yearning; Duchess Says; The Bellamys; The Blue Orchids; The Blue Aeroplanes; Snails; The Charlie Tipper Conspiracy; Real Numbers; Pete Astor; La Bella Luna; Scott & Charlene's Wedding; The English Teeth and Toy. There's electronica from Sine Sleeper; Burial & Zomby; Tiga remixed by Jonas Rathsman; Caribou remixed by Prins Thomas and Auntie Flo. Queen Of Jeans take on Roy Orbison, while Emma Kupa covers The Softies and Tangible Excitement! cover Tiger Trap, both songs by Rose Melberg of course. This month's Peel's Big 45 is a folkie number from 1972, while this month's Educating Elizabeth track is a Northern Soul classic from 1968. As well as little known acts, here's a little known fact: Scott And Charlene's Wedding are named after one of the greatest cultural events in Australian history - the onscreen marriage of Scott Robinson and Charlene Mitchell, characters in the television soap opera Neighbours, in 1987.

Sean Hocking - October 2016 Featuring in Sean's show this month the normal selection of music for oldies and music for newbies. Nostalgia lovers will enjoy a bit of Fatima Mansions and something off Nick Cave's new album, funny how a boy from Melbourne has become an English national treasure, certainly wasn't something you thought would happen back in those dim distant Birthday Party days. For people who like something a bit more up to date we have the latest project by Rhys, he of the now sadly missed Pairs: Thug Mills out of Geelong (there you go Victoria again) and in his own inimitable style, loud and nasty, a great 12" by Japan's Jun Kamoda bizarrely entitled Physical Graffiti, now where have we heard that before? I mustn't forget a great band that came in via an enquiry to Dandelion, from the Basque country LoE LoF LoN. Plus as always heaps more as they like to say in Australia.
