Super Furry Animals

Powered by Audioscrobbler™Super Furry Animals is a Welsh rock band formed in Cardiff in 1993. The group’s long-term lineup consists of Gruff Rhys (lead vocals, guitar), Huw Bunford (lead guitar, vocals), Guto Pryce (bass guitar), Cian Ciaran (keyboards, synthesizers, electronics, occasional guitar, vocals), and Dafydd Ieuan (drums, vocals). An earlier version of the band featured actor Rhys Ifans as lead vocalist.

The band emerged as part of a wave of Welsh music in the 1990s, often referred to as the Cool Cymru movement, alongside groups such as Manic Street Preachers, Stereophonics, Catatonia, and Gorky's Zygotic Mynci.

Super Furry Animals have released nine studio albums that reached the UK Albums Chart Top 25, including one certified Gold and four certified Silver by the British Phonographic Industry. Their discography also includes numerous singles, EPs, compilation albums, and collaborations. The band achieved multiple UK Top 40 singles but never reached the Top 10 of the UK Singles Chart.

They have been recognized for their eclectic and experimental style, combining elements of rock, psychedelia, electronic music, and pop. Music publications such as Billboard and NME have described Super Furry Animals as a highly creative and influential act in contemporary music.
