[1] Shlomo is a human beatbox artist from Leeds. He has worked with artists such as Björk and his own hip hop crew Foreign Beggars. He attended the Royal Grammar School, High Wycombe.

He is known for pioneering original beatboxing techniques including his 2-mic trancebox routine which won him widespread respect in the international beatbox community.

Shlomo is also one of the key people behind the global beatbox portal humanbeatbox.com.

In August 2004, Shlomo was invited by Icelandic singer Björk to beatbox on her all-vocal album Medulla. The track, Oceania, was composed as a commission by the Olympic Games Committee, and was performed at the Opening Ceremony in Athens. An estimated audience of 4.5 billion viewers saw this performance, making Shlomo the most heard beatboxer in history (although most would not have realised that the drum sounds were vocal). The performance was also nominated for a Grammy.

Shlomo then went on to tour the UK, Europe and Canada with London Hip Hop act Foreign Beggars, before making a solo appearance on Later.. with Jools Holland in late 2005 (video).

He is now rumoured to be working on a solo album due in 2007.

As of 2007, Shlomo formed and performs with what is considered to be the first beatboxing choir known as the Vocal Orchestra - who now perform together as Shlomo and the Vocal Orchestra . Their most recent performance to date is the Greenbelt Festival 2009.

2. Avant-garde hip-hop producer and Los Angeles native Henry Laufer goes by the alias Shlohmo. He started making music at the age of 14, and by 17 he was making cinematic beats in the same spirit as Flying Lotus, J-Roc, and Ras G. In 2008, during his senior year of high school, he co-founded Wedidit Collective, an Internet label/community of L.A. artists (featuring Elan, RL Grime, Groundislava, D33J, Jonwayne, Melonious Drunk, Juj, Zeroh, Dr. Blount, and NonEpic). Following the three EPs Shlo-Fi, Camping, and Places, and the mini-album Shlomoshun Deluxe, Laufer released his first full-length, 2011's Bad Vibes on Friends of Friends. Shlohmo completed remixes for a variety of dance, indie, and hip-hop/R&B artists (including Lianne La Havas, LOL Boys, and the Weeknd), and collaborated with Banks and Jeremih in 2014. He signed to True Panther Sounds in 2015, releasing the metal-inspired Dark Red full-length, and touring with a band including fellow Wedidit members. ~ Jason Lymangrover, Rovi
