Shadowwax

Powered by Audioscrobbler™"Emotion, honesty, passion, energy...in all forms!!!" That was the answer given when shadowWax was asked, "What makes for a great band?" That's nice to hear from a band when today's music industry is one primarily made up of bands that exhibit the exact opposite of those qualities. shadowWax leaves no doubt as to what kind of band they are or what they stand for upon hearing their music or seeing them live.

shadowWax is Eric Christopher (vocals, guitar), Khhriss Hamlet (bass), and Rocky Norman (guitar). Three guys who have sacrificed everything for the sake of their art. That sacrifice has brought them many accomplishments. shadowWax has headlined their hometown's Sundown In The City to over 10,000 people. Shared the stage with Korn, Flyleaf, Seether, and too many more to mention. Won D'Addario's "Get Me Loaded" contest beating over 3,000 bands, to be named the best unsigned band in the country. Even recorded records with heavyweights Jeff Tomei (Smashing Pumpkins) and Travis Wyrick (P.O.D.). When asked, "How do those things make you feel?", Christopher replies, "Though we are massively appreciative of the fruits of our labor, at the end of the day...it means nothing unless you made some sort of difference."

Now, six years, hundreds of shows, and thousands of fans later, shadowWax is a band that has done just that. They made a difference, and they will continue to make a difference, keeping their sights on what's important: the music...something that is now usually last on the list in a "smoke and mirrors" industry. It's nice to see a band that understands that music is a beautiful gift to give and receive. After the Fall '08 release of their next album, one will once again see that shadowWax leaves no doubt that they are one of those bands...(to be continued).
