Prolapse are band from Leicester, United Kingdom, active from 1992 to 2000 and reformed in 2015. They formed under a table at Leicester Polytechnic's (now DeMontfort University's) Friday night disco and their music has been variously described as krautrock, punk, post-punk and 'voodoobilly' (!). Over the years they toured with bands like Arab Strap, Pulp, Sebadoh, Sonic Youth and Stereolab.
They performed sessions for John Peel. They released five albums: three between 1992 and 2000, another since the reformation of 2015, which - by the way - happened at the request of Mogwai, who wanted Prolapse to support their 20 year anniversary gigs.
Personnel: David Jeffreys, Donald Ross Skinner, Linda Steelyard, 'Scottish' Mick Derrick, 'Geordie' Mick Harrison, Pat Marsden, Tim Pattison.
