Pre-fix is the stage name of Welsh musician and composer Daniel James McCaffrey. Originally from Milford Haven and currently residing in the Welsh Valleys via Hertfordshire, Pre-fix is an alternative/electronic based project started in 2011 by McCaffrey in conjunction with Hand & Face Records.

Pre-fix cut his musical teeth all the way back in 1998, when he was the drummer and founding member in indie bands Dempsey, and then Emergency One and Marshal Plan respectively. After a brief relocation to greater London, Pre-fix returned home to his native Wales and settled just outside of Aberdare to work on a new direction for his music.

Influenced by alternative, punk and dance, and taking inspiration from bands as diverse as The Big Pink and blink-182, Pre-fix is the newest artist on the seminal indie label Hand & Face, who will be putting out his debut EP in the fall of 2011.
