PAINT

Powered by Audioscrobbler™There are (at least) 5 bands called Paint.

1. A project by guitarist and singer Pedrum Siadatian of Allah-Las

"PAINT is the project of Allah-Las guitarist / singer Pedrum Siadatian, and the title of his first solo album. Started by four-tracking his strange, slow-growing ideas just after Allah-Las third record Calico Review, PAINT has a happily paradoxical finished-but-not-finished, wet-to-the-touch feel, like an even more shambolic Kevin Ayers or Syd Barrett, but the songs that never came out."

2. Canadian Band 2009 - .
"Rockstars and entertainers with a sincere change-the-world-with-heart attitude" (Midnight Matinee), Toronto's Paint have earned their reputation as one of Canada's hardest-working and most genuine indie bands with their infectiously energetic live performances, pop hooks, and lyrical depth.

Since the release of their 2009 debut Can You Hear Me?, Paint has played 200 shows from Vancouver to Halifax, including multiple returns to North by Northeast (named one of the top acts of 2012 by The Toronto Star), Canadian Music Week, Indie Week, Hamilton Music Awards and New Music West, and been voted a listener-favourite on 102.1 The Edge.

Paint's 2011 sophomore album, Where We Are Today, was recorded and produced by Ian Smith with award-winning engineer Michael Chambers at Catherine North Studios (City and Colour, Feist, Gord Downie) and mastered by Joe Lambert in Brooklyn, NY (Johnny Cash, Elvis Presley, Social Distortion, Bright Eyes, The Trews). Influenced by Britpop and New Wave, Where We Are Today is dynamic and pop-focused. It's a step away from the "wall of sound," and towards more intricate and mature musicality and songwriting.

The band is currently stage-testing and developing new material for their third LP.

"Combining UK-flavoured pop-jangle with an indie-rock swagger, this is an ode to hook-driven gems with splashes of exuberant energy, soaring melodies, and a star-crossed retro spirit." - The Lonely Vagabond

"Picture perfect." - 102.1 The Edge

"Intelligent people making incredible music." - The Examiner

"Prepare to clap along." - The Toronto Star

"5 Stars." - Youthink Magazine

"All killer, no filler... destined for arenas." - Soundproof Magazine

"An exciting blend of catchy pop rock and stellar lyrics... undeniable brilliance." - The Argosy

"Paint's music can be an exclamation point to the world. But in its quietest moments it is introspective and haunting... Can Paint be the next U2?" - Midnight Matinee

3. US Band 1994(?) - ?
With female singer of Lorelei.

4. American electronic bass music duo, consisting of producers Huxley Anne and Tsuruda.

5. Self-described as "Noisy pop from Fremantle, Western Australia."

"Inspired by D.I.Y ethos, coming-of-age films, skateboarding and nature, Paint makes fuzz and reverb drenched pop songs.

Made up of four friends from Fremantle, Western Australia, Paint formed in 2020. After a few months of jamming and recording home demos, they played their first show to 30 friends in the living room of their old house. Since then, Paint has released three singles and honed their sound, playing shows around the City and down the coast of WA. Soft, nostalgic melodies and tongue-in-cheek lyrics cut through loud, washy and twinkly guitar lines to create a live atmosphere that swings between the geniality of bedroom pop and chaos of punk.

With a 5 track extended play titled “Bugs” recently released, Paint has set it sights on “becoming a real band” in 2023, whatever that means." - Triple J Unearthed
