Nanaki Instrumental band from the Isle of Man, containing elements of Post-Rock, alt-rock, shoegaze, art-rock, etc. Formed in 2002 by bassist Emma Ryan and guitarist/multi-instrumentalist Mikie Daugherty. In 2003 the band's only album to date 'Fashion Is The Enemy Of All Art' was released, along with new material recorded solely by Mikie on the 'Alt-Rock' compilation, later reissued by Small Bear Records in 2012. Over the years the live lineup was bolstered by drummers Matt Gell and Chris Flood, guitarists Steve Halsall, Dan Ankers and The Pie, as well as keyboardist/guitarist Andy Gifted. The band officially split in 2008 when Emma left the island, but Mikie has begun recording under the Nanaki banner once more, initially contributing covers of Christmas songs to festive releases from Small Bear Records. New Year's Day 2014 saw the first release of new original material in almost a decade, with the 'Afterlight' EP, also on Small Bear Records. Following this creative rebirth Mikie recorded a new album 'The Dying Light', which was released on New Year's Eve of the same year. Read more on Last.fm.
