Artist Info

Maple Leaves

Powered by Audioscrobbler™Maple Leaves is: Anna Miles (vocals, piano, flute, guitar) Julian Corrie (vocals, guitar, piano) and Graeme Thomson (drums).
The band was formed in late 2008 when Anna and Julian met at an Open Mic and realised their mutual love for story songs and catchy melody. Recent addition Graeme began his Maples drum journey in February 2009.

Anna can also be heard singing on Belle and Sebastian's forthcoming 'God Help The Girl' album, with Catherine Ireton and Stuart Murdoch to be released in June 2009. As well as indie folk pop, Julian can also be found making electronica music under his alter-ego Miaoux Miaoux.

Since then they have supported Dan Smith on his UK tour and performed at Glasgow's new writing night 'Discombobulate' at the CCA and are working on an E.P to be released in the spring.

Despite the name, Maple Leaves are not in fact, Canadian. Hailing from Newcastle upon Tyne, Kirkintilloch and 'erm, everywhere really' they would however like to state that they do like Canada very much, and are big fans of maple leaves and also syrup in particular. Mmmmm...delicious....
