Map

Powered by Audioscrobbler™There is more than one band named MAP:

1) Map began as a revolving door with one steady fixture: Josh Dooley. Dooley formed Map in the year 2000, and with the revolving door in affect, recorded two EPs: Eastern Skies, Western Eyes (Velvet Blue Music) and Teaching Turtles to Fly (Velvet Blue Music). These EPs served as an early showcase of Dooleys talents with special regard to creating melodies, writing hooks, and exercising guitar chops.

It wasnt until 2003, however, when Map released Secrets By The Highway (Velvet Blue Music), that his impressive musicianship was truly showcased. Then in the summer of 2004, Map released their second full length record, Think Like An Owner (Velvet Blue Music).

2) a political ska-punk rock band with Map from Quebec City (QC), Canada

3) A northern France hip hop band, see Ministère des Affaires Populaires.

4) An avant-garde ensemble consisting of Tatsuya Nakatani (drums), Reuben Radding (bass) and Mary Halvorson (guitar).

5) A London-based group, founders of the term Pronk music (proggy punk) - group consisted of Chris Anderson, Emil Smith, Sarah Underdown and Michael Rother. 10" EP, Doesn't Always Get released 1992 0n Org Records. 2006 Map reduced to a duo (Anderson/Smith) releasing the album, Genetic Malfunctions Triggered By Events.
