1. Little Teeth is what happens when you give classically trained vocalists a few folk instruments (banjo, glockenspiel, and mandolin, amongst others) and tell them to make music from the heart. The San Francisco-based trio was formed in 2004 between Dannie Murrie (they/them), Ammo Eisu (he/they), and Andy Tisdall (he/him). Their debut album 'Child Bearing Man' was released in 2008 on Absolutely Kosher records. The trio — when combining forces — create a sound they like to classify as “orchestral noise folk.” It’s non-traditional and abrasive at times, yet melodious and catchy. The self-produced album demonstrates their overwhelming vigor and skill. Each member plays at least five instruments each, backed up with phantom vocals and an orchestral sound. Shortly before the release of their debut album, the group disbanded briefly due to declining mental health and interpersonal drama. The band was revived in 2009 after Dannie started a short-lived project with Sofia Bell (she/her) under the name Kitchen. Sofia then joined Little Teeth along with Swan Real (she/her), soldifying their lineup for most of the 2010s. Sofia became sick and had been battling an illness as the band was working on their second album. She left the band in 2018 and the album was presumably scrapped, leaving a handful of demos and an abundance of unreleased live material throughout the 2010s. They're latest release is a split EP with Snow Caps in 2018 through the tape label Single Girl Married Girl. Dannie has hinted on their instagram that new material with a new lineup is in the works.
