Powered by Audioscrobbler™Lotion had released only two 7" singles ("Head" and "Tear," both on Kokopop) before the group recorded Full Isaac for spinArt in 1994. The band, comprising vocalist Tony Zajkowski, guitarist Jim Ferguson, bassist Bill Ferguson, and drummer Rob Youngberg, toured America and Europe (with Pavement, Throwing Muses and Mercury Rev), recorded a song for the Frank Sinatra tribute album Chairman of the Board, and released the EP Juggernaut on Big Cat. A second EP, Agnew's Funeral, followed in late 1995 before Lotion released Nobody's Cool early the following year. The Telephone Album followed in 1998.
