1) A noise rock band from Athens, Greece.

"Krause is the late unwanted child that sprung from the loins of the Athenian underground. As any child of such fate, at the end of 2015 they amassed their collective contempt for this world and gave it back to it with their debut LP “2AM THOUGHTS”, that is to be released as a collaboration between Riot Season (for EU & the world) and 3 Shades of Black (for Greece) in February ’17."

2) A Dutch Electro producer.

Not only is ‘No Guts, No Glory’ the title of her debut album, it is also the maxim of Krause, alter ego of the Dutch Susanne Clermonts. On her debut album she translates this into steamy disco and pumping electro beats. It is a mix of catchy synth pop and hysterical electro punk, with a sound that makes your trouser legs flutter. The album is produced by the guys behind drum & bass trio Noisia, who are responsible for the consistent, heavy sound of ‘No Guts, No Glory’.

Krause’s debut album is intriguing, diverse and energetic. The track ‘Follow Me’ is a relatively small production with close harmony vocals, while the rioting ‘I Want A Pony’ – where Krause screams off 20 years frustration of not getting a pony – contradicts this track completely. Tracks like ‘Soaring Through The Starlight’ and ‘Radio Edit’ are very catchy pop songs, prepare for steel drums in the sunny ‘Rock The Boat’ and single ‘No Guts, No Glory’ reminds of the sound of Royksopp.

Krause is a self made artist. After years of playing in punkrock bands, Clermonts decides to trade the raging guitars for electro. In Michel Houellebecq’s ‘Elementary Particles’ she finds the perfect name for her alter ego. A new species of mankind is created in this novel, who are covered in Krause-particles through which pleasure is experienced. ‘Normal’ people only have these particles on their erogenous zones. ‘An intriguing idea’.

At the Dutch Academy for Popculture, this Bachelor of Music learns the basic skills of studio technology, which she follows up with a crash course in Ableton, enabling her to program her own music. In no time she develops herself into an all round performer who writes and produces her own music. At the end of 2007, she releases five songs on pink vinyl on BlackLabel Records. In 2008 she signs a record deal with Sony Music, after winning the ‘Lopend Vuur Pitch’, issued by New Music Labs and Sony Music.

By now, Krause knows the ins and outs of the Dutch club scene. She has performed at Noorderslag, EuroSonic, Amsterdam Dance Event and has shared the stage with the likes of The Ting Tings, CSS and Vive La Fête. Her interdisciplinary live show consists of rowdy electro, frantic vocals, heavy guitars and a custom made VJ set. Recently Krause expanded her one woman show with a live band, consisting of drummer Jetse Goris and bass player Daniele Labbate, a move that has added an amazing amount of dynamics and intensity, and has elevated her live performance to a whole new level. Krause is ready to rock your bra off!
