Kirk Barley (aka Church Andrews) is a Yorkshire born composer and sound artist.
Under his own name he produces highly textural, organic work, formed from processed studio and field recordings,
In contrast as Church Andrews he produces synthetic, often beat-focused music, using digital synthesis and algorithmic composition techniques.
For both projects he draws influence from Jazz, Minimalism, Techno and Hip-Hop, while experimenting with time signature, temporals and tuning systems to create a unique and compelling soundworld.
Kirk has performed across the UK, Europe and Canada, And played shows with the likes of Andy Stott, Beatrice Dillon, MF DOOM, Madlib, Jan Jelinek & Pole among others.
He has also completed commissioned work for the British Art Show, Camden Arts Centre, MSCTY, and the Open Music Archive.
