His mother is the actress Brigitte Nielsen (Red Sonja, Beverly Hills Cop II, The Surreal Life), Sylvester Stallone's ex-wife, his father is the Danish musician Kasper Winding. His parents divorced when Julian was 5 months only because the two were very young.

For the first years Julian lived with his grandparents, Svendt and Hanne, then she lived with his dad Kasper in Bristol, UK, where he studied music like his father. During these years he collaborated in some Kasper Winding's music album and finished high school.

He received early notice with his pop single Disconnected which was used in the documentary My Life Directed by Nicolas Winding Refn directed by Liv Corfixen. Earlier this year his banging electro track Demon Dance was a musical highlight in Nicolas Winding Refn‘s latest film The Neon Demon.

For two years Julian is back in Denmark and in April 2004 he married Sine Thybeak Hansen in Copenaghen.
