Active since 2014, the five albums by James Place feel like a wide sound collection filled with ethereal pulsations and emotional harmonies, capable of transcending specific trends of contemporary electronics: it’s more like a state of mind and abstract sensations. In his most recent work, Still waves to a whisper (Umor Rex, 2019 his fourth release for the Mexican label), James Place makes a hypnotizing call to the dance floor while flooding the space with unprecedented beauty, which we anticipate will reach its peak at our Edition 16.
