Powered by Audioscrobbler™Hissing Tiles is a Cincinnati, Ohio-based self-described "noisepunk loudband" with Erik Ziedses des Plantes (Till Plains, WALK) on bass/singing, Michael Squeri (Weakness, Fourth Wife, Self Surgery) on guitar/singing, and Patrick Apfelbeck (Lashes) on drums. The band's initial lineup featured BJ Marsee (Crushed Velvet, White Walls) on drums. Their first recordings included the EPs "Phone Commercial" and "Fake Bulbs" released in 2013 and 2014, respectively.
In August 2016, Hissing Tiles self-released their first LP, "Aces Read Me to Sleep," with both BJ Marsee and Joseph Frankl on drums. Patrick Apfelbeck joined the band on drums beginning with tour dates later in 2016.
In August 2019, Hissing Tiles released their second LP, "Boychoir," on the experimental label Whited Sepulchre (Midwife, Planning For Burial, Forest Management). Engineered by Jake Tippey and recorded at Cincinnati's historic Ultrasuede Studio, the album exhibits a more cohesive coupling of the desperate noise of early releases with an expanded sense of melody, dynamics, and space. Maggie Cleary (MARR) And Regina Squeri provided additional vocals for several tracks on the album.
