Her Stems Spiral is an experimental project started by Shannon Lawlor of the Johannesburg based post-rock band Eyes Like Mirrors. It was created as an entity to explore the realm of unconventional song-writing & structure, with the intent of migrating from genre to genre, from time to time.

A debut EP titled Princess Poured Out The Pale Winter Moon was released on the 23rd of April 2013, which incorporates elements of post-rock, screamo, math-core & avant-garde. It was recorded over the course of a year, limited to hardware & software. Download here -

A new concept project titled "House of Frozen Butterflies" was released on the 28th of August 2014. It is loosely based on the video-game Project Zero / Fatal Frame II: Crimson Butterfly and features the addition of sound design to create a film-esque ambience over original music - branching out to new territories and of course, familiarity! A new full-length album is currently in the works, with the ambition of blending odd genres together like mathcore, electronica & shoegaze, it is slated for November 2014.
