Henry and Louis… Louis’ (a.k.a. Andy Scholes) love for Roots music started in 1981 when he became a part of the legendary Bristol sound 'Red Eye Hi Power' along side Saul Hooper (King Solomom) and Kev Rogers (Farmer G/ Whitelion). Live sound was the basis of Louis’ musical education. In 1988 Louis met Henry (Jack Lundie) with a background in studio production. Keeping true to Roots wisdom they used the old recording ways of Tubby’s and the world opened up for the duo.

Henry and Louis have been producing Roots music in Bristol since 1990. The main studio was the Vision Factory on Zetland Road. Here they recorded 'Too Late' and the 1st LP Rudiments, produced for the 'Cup of Tea' label, worked with Bristol sound systems Lokko (Unique Star) Armagedion, recorded and mixed dubplates with artists Horace Andy, Preddi, Prince Green, Donette Forte.

In 1996 Louis went to Kingston, Jamaica, where the LP 'Time will Tell' was recorded. It was mixed in Bob Marley’s house in Port Maria, St Mary which is now owned by Ali Cambell of UB40 who in 1998 chose Henry and Louis as the support for their global tour.

Louis went went back to Jamaica in 1998 and it was then that he was asked to go and see Augustus Pablo in his house in Tangerine Hill, Kingston. Unknown to Henry and Louis, Augustus had heard 'Time will Tell' and wanted to tell them that it was a joy to hear the old methods of roots production still alive. Louis was speechless and still to this day remembers clearly the inspiration he felt at Augustus’ compliment.

Henry and Louis are still writing and producing roots music, now in 2007 with Justin Griffith playing an integral part of the team and adding his Roots and Dubstep expertise to the sound. The single ‘Answer’ was released in April 2007, the launch party hosted by Tippa Irie, and supported by fellow local artists Ray Mighty, Rob Smith, DJ Pinch and Dubwize.

As the power of Roots flows, strong & true are the hearts of dedicated people who step in time to this path. Jah bless all players and contributors of music.
